My husband and I dined at Soma three times during our recent stay in Chelem and each time was great. On Wednesday nights, with a reservation, you can have 2 for 1 meals at the low cost of $160 pesos. Portions are generous yet so tasty you could go for seconds! You build your own pasta creation and my favourite was Fettucine with tomatoes, garlic, wild mushrooms, clams and aged paremsan in a creamy gorgonzola sauce.....just to die for!! The restuarant is not licenced so you bring your own and they will put it on ice for you. Bottles are charged a small corkage fee. The restaurant is situated in beautiful grounds, giving it a romantic feel. You can dress up or down. Hats off to Chef Alberto and his lovely wife Lindy who run it!

Continuing our tour of chelem area some friends recommended Soma. We went for Wednesday pasta night and were greeted at the door by co owner Linde and taken to a lovely table under the palapa near the pool. Linde offered us the pina aqua refresco drink with chaya. It was light and not too sweet. We didn't know you can bring your own wine, but we enjoyed this drink very much. We were given choice of pastas choice of three sauces, choice of proteins (beef, chicken or shrimp) and several vegetable choices. Then we watched as Alberto (chef and co-owner) took our order and created our dinner. Within 10 minutes we had a beautifully seasoned and prepared meal. It felt that we had been invited into their home for a wonderful dinner among friends. We will return to enjoy their entire menu often! Highly recommended, don't miss this gem in chelem!

What a wonderful new restaurant in Chelem. It is so nice to have a restaurant with real chairs and napkins. The food is outstanding and the service is very good also. We love the breakfasts as well as the pasta on Wednesday pasta night. We did go when the chef was open for dinner on a Friday and it was an excellent menu, but I do not think he is open at night other than Wednesdays. My favorite brunch option is crab eggs benedict which is only a special and done only when the chef can get crab, but his regular egg's benedict is fabulous too. What a treat to have such an upscale restaurant in such a small town!!!!

Delicious! Choice of penne or tagliatelle pasta, and chicken, pork and 4 veggies: spinach, basil, squash, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, olives, garlic, peppers, and parmesan, or feta, or cheddar cheese. If you'd like gluten free pasta call ahead and request that. Friends loved the carrot cake and chocolate cake.

Other's had egg sandwich, and other omelettes. Fresh OJ and good coffee. Looked at dinner menu definitely step above most restaurants in area. Very nice atmosphere. A place to try
