“Home away from home.”

While Jinotega is the jewel of the northern highlands; Hotel Kiuras (means waterfall) is the jewell of Jinotaga. This tranquil family run hotel makes an ideal base to visit the surrounding countryside. Ricardo (owner/manager) speaks fluent english and knows everything you need to enjoy the town and surrounding mountains. Without a doubt breakfast (made by mom) is the best in town. The rooms are very clean and airy and all the staff make you feel right at home.

Mike and Janine from Yukon Territory Canada . . .We will be back.

Room Tip: Rooms # 5, 6 and 7 have a mountains view

This past summer I traveled to Nicaragua as a school trip. We were astonished when we got to our hotel because we didn't know where we were going to stay at but the instant we entered the door it was so warming and welcoming. We were greeted by the hotel owner and his family since the hotel is a family run place. The hotel owner is also a doctor so if you need to see a doctor his always there to help. There's wifi, private showers, great restaurant and most importantly makes you feel at home. We also had the honor to paint a mural of Jinotega right outside of the hotel. Everything you needed and main attractions very close to the hotel, no need to pay for taxis. I grew a great connection with the Hotel Kiuras family but those three weeks at this hotel were so awesome words can not explain how good this hotel is. Very Recommendable!!! Thanks so Much Hotel Kiuras!

Room Tip: The last two rooms on the top floor were the best because of the space available and privacy.

Great low budget hotel for travellers, passengers and so on. Friendly family hotel in the centre of Jinotega and shortly a restaurant with local specialities. Wifi all around, private shower and more. Free coffee included all day.

On the plus side, the location was good and the price was decent.
Not sure about the restaurant since it didn't seem to be open when I was there.
On the negative- while it is hardly the hotels fault the neighbours seem to be the home base for some sort of religious group so my Sunday afternoon was rather noisy with a prayer/ hymn sing that was more than enough to drown out my TV.

We make a trip to Nicaragua in February 2010. We seen a lot, but Jinotega was the most beautiful experience, the place is in the mountains and is not famous by tourist. You see the real Nicaragua, We meet a Dutch guy, and he lives in Jinotega with his family. He speaks Dutch, English and Spanish. Our Spanish is not good, so he translated the Spanish for us and told very much about the place and country. He makes with us interesting trips inside en outside Jinotega. We stay in hotel kiuras, a nice family hotel, it was very good, (clean, warm water, good breakfast and possibility for diner) owned by a doctor and his family, it is a gassy and friendly hotel totally renovated in the spring of 2009. A night cost about 20 dollar.
