We spent a week here last summer with our 3 kids ages 10,14,16. Just a beautiful place- beach, water, kayaking, food, pool, flowers, conversation, drinks etc.
This is a place to have a few drinks, chat with others and fall into the hotels schedule. If you want your meals on your time frame, forget it, this is not the place for you. Its very relaxed, friendly and they will do anything for you but you may have to ask. Dylan the manager is very organized and he will be happy to arrange anything you want. Darion the cook is very entertaining and relaxed. We had a wonderful time, made some good friends and appreciated all they did for us.

Yes, the pool is great, but I think it does need a new filter...... please look into that !

Many thanks for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Regarding our pool - we have a very high tech pool filtration system that includes sand filters, UV sterilizers and colorization systems which give us a clean sparkling pool 99.9% of the time. Being off the grid the pool is fed by rain water and during very dry periods we may need to top the pool up with well water which may make it cloudy for a few hours while the filters do their work, this happens maybe only once a year.

I spent a week at Popa in March and it truly was paradise! As all the other reviews have said Popa is the perfect place for any traveller. During the day it's great to relax by the pool, take in the sun,and have some drinks at the swim up bar. At night Dyllan and Darion make sure to entertain with phenomenal fire shows and beach parties. The food is incredibly fresh, and cooked to perfection. One night we were spoiled with delicious red snapper prepared in the traditional Panamanian style. Every night there was something new, and they were very accommodating to food allergies and special diets.

During the day we spent countless hours on the beautiful white sand beaches, dolphin watching, and snorkelling at the near by coral cove. The staff took great care of us, offering to pack lunches for the day, even putting together a cooler of drinks for our day at Zapatillas. The cleaning staff is equally wonderfully, always making sure that the beautiful casitas were immaculate. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and wildlife is one of the great perks of travelling to the secluded island.

I am already planning my next trip to Popa with my family because it was that amazing!

Room Tip: I stayed in Casita 4...it looks right into the jungle with a gorgeous view of the beach.

We have just spent a month in Panama and our last days were spent at Popa Paradise. No lie, we saved the best for last! As per all the other amazing reviews of this outstanding place...we ended our vacation in absolute bliss and relaxation at Popa Paradise. Ate too much of the sublime gourmet food... sat by the pool and enjoyed Ty's creative cocktails and in general pampered ourselves outrageously!

Dylan, Darion, Ty and staff made our stay there absolutely incredible in every way and we will most definitely be returning as soon as possible, hopefully to be a part of the fantastic and exciting energy that is Popa Paradise.

Cheers to some of the best people we have met travelling! Keep up the fantastic vibe you have created Dylan and Darion, and you will continue to have happy travellers the world over!

Much love,
Scott & Rita

My partner and I visited Popa in February of 2013 and had an absolutely amazing time. The island is well kept and beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and took great care of us. The food was exquisite and beautifully prepared. I've never had two full lobster tails for dinner before. Our ocean front casita was only feet away from the sea and we could listen to the ocean waves as we slept. The pictures of this place don't do justice to how beautiful it actually is. We were treated with a day trip on their Yacht where we snorkled two different reefs and were greeted by dolphins that swam along with the ship.

Keep in mind you will need to take a boat ride to get out to Popa island so it is a bit of a hike - but it's worth it.

My partner and I have literally traveled all around the world and this trip was definitely one of the best we have ever had.

Room Tip: Ask for the casita closest to the Ocean, the view is unbeatable.

I stayed at Popa Paradise last May and really loved the place. While I wouldn't call it a 5 star resort, it is a 5 star eco lodge and the owners do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. The cabanas are spacious and clean and the views are incredible. I wouldn't stay for a week as it can get a bit dull at night (it's a decent boat trip from town), but 2-3 days of quiet relaxation is perfect. The staff can't be beat and Dylan and Darion are incredible hosts. Combining a few days in town with a few days on Popa is in my opinion the perfect Bocas vacation.

Many thanks for your great review, we are so pleased you loved Popa Paradise. We have now opened our beach bar so there are many nights with beach BBQ's under the stars, live music and fire dancing, so now the nights can be quite and tranquil or fun filled evenings, the choice is yours!
