We decided to take our kids, ages 8 and 14, on an adventure beyond the usual spring break destinations ... Mexican all includives, Florida crowded beaches... It was an amazing cultural experience and a tropical oasis.. Adventure, beaches, zip lines, boogie boarding at red frog beach, snorkeling right off the beach at zapatillos, visits to Indian villages and schools, pristine coral reefs.... The staff at popa paradise was superlative... Accommodating and welcoming and wonderfully entertaining... The food was great, so nice to wake up in our own casita and walk down to the open air dining area for fresh fruit, followed by omlettes or pancakes... The staff lined up whatever we wanted to do, private boat to snorkel or tour, lined up a nice simple lunch... The resort pool was what made us choose this spot over others in bocas del toro area, and we were so glad we did... Compared to other lovely spots in the area, the pool was a great diversion to keep the kids occupied when we wanted some lounge chair time.... The casita was glorious, a nice couch which we didn't use since we were on our private deck overlooking the water... The staff was apologetic when we had a rainy day but our kids were thrilled to swim in the rain in the pool and we were giddy to relax as we listened to the rain falling on the roof... Use of sea kayaks right on the private beach were fun to explore the coastline of popa island... Great sand and some beach chairs were ideal for lounging on the beach when we weren't at the pool. Dinners offered several choices, and were very good and reasonably priced. They were also great about serving our daughter buttered noodles....we felt welcome and comfortable at this small boutique hotel, and dream of returning. It is an adventure to get there, small plane flight from panama city followed by a small boat ride... Gorgeous scenery... Through island waterways and mangroves... All things that make it an adventure we loved and our kids will embrace way more than our previous spring break to floridas islands of adventure....

Room Tip: Our casita was lovely, they brought in an extra bed so the four of us fit comfortably. While there are casitas closer to the beach, we were very happy being close to the pool, we could run to the casita in 3 minutes to get sunscreen or a book... Could be noisy if the pool bar is serving guests who are up late.... If you are a couple seeking privacy you can find it in one of the casitas on the beach.
