My family and I have just got back from an excellent holiday at Goa where we stayed at this beautiful property CASA Vagator. The entire ambience, the service, the food, the pool was excellent. The time we spent on the deck over-looking the Bay was special. Offcourse there are a few things to improve like the initial rooms that we were checked into, were not ideal and there was noise from the generator but hey wait, we were later on checked into better rooms by the staff. So no complaints !! The manager Richard was also very helpful and the staff, extremely hard working I must say. Overall we loved our holiday and experience at CV and would recommend Families and couples looking for a place a little away from the noise of the crowd, to stay at CV.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool are good. Although the sea facing rooms looked good, but didnt get a chance to...

We are happy that your stay experience with us was pleasant . Whilst we try to accommodate all guests in the best rooms available, this may not always be possible, especially on weekends when we are full. Room up-gradation is a continuous process and we hope to give you a better experience when you return. We are deeply grateful for your custom & look forward to serving you again. Do let us know how else we could have improved your stay.

I was charged 7k per night.Staff is quite courteous. but basic amenities missing, No parking in the property. Rooms are good but restaurant is pathetic. limited menu option. Atrociously expensive. my masala tea was served with 'bayleaf'. On investigation, i found out that since cook was not available , the dish washer made it. He used food masala to make my masala tea ...weird stuff.. At 7K per night, many better properties are available.. swimming pool is small ...ok ok types..no beach ..only rocks...entrance to beach from property not good....my family just hated this property. isolated property but next to a pub which keeps playing loud music whole evening till midnight.

Room Tip: nothing specific

Dear Ajay,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a very honest review on CASA Vagator and we apologize both for the negative experience and for the lateness of this reply.

The entire CASA Group has gone through a revamping of both the property and amenities since the time you were here. We have extended the number of rooms and added an extra Pool, Gym, Massage room and Saloon to the property. The beach obviously is the same though more popular over recent years with Waters, Chronicle and Thalassa coming up within walking distance.

There are no excuses for what happened on your last visit - excellent tasting masala tea awaits you and much better amenities to rival any of our neighbors - but we do hope you will revisit us and let us make amends for our mistakes.

Regards

After reading some mix reviews about this place we were confused if this is what we should book. However, we like well laid out and stylized rooms and can be ok with slow service so decided to go ahead with it. And we have been extremely overwhelmed!

From the moment you enter the gate and walk a fleet of stairs down.. its so pretty. Done is a Bali/ thai style. Excellent rooms, huge high bed, superbly decorated. Ours was the luxury room facing the pool. We had room no.6 that had a small circular tub which was very clean and nice. Hot water 24hours. We were given option to choose "sea facing rooms" however they were not done up that well and didnt have a TV but had amazing views. The staff is a perfect example of service with a smile. Infact they are so attentive and always similing that its too good to be true. they accommodated ALL our requests which is rare. maybe it was off season time. They did have fixed timing for breakfast and dinner but yet they managed to serve us when we got late. The deck was closed in monsoon which was a pity as the view from there was fantastic.

We went to the beach from the back gate of hotel. and though its a rocky beach where u cant swim, there is a small shack you can sit and watch sun set and have a nice drink. The pool of the hotel was almost clean and is open 8 to 8pm and if you are still in after 8pm they don't ask you to leave. The wifi zone had free wifi all the time. We didn't get network in the room for even our cells to work. The food choice on menu is limited but everything was available and made simple and nice. The breakfast was mainly cereals, eggs, fresh juice. If you wanted indian or anything else there would be extra cost. The intercom in our room didn't work but we never had an issue as our veranda door opened facing the reception and we would just talk to them from there. They did have a generator back up. I would highly recommend this for couples looking for privacy. We got a tea/ coffee maker in the room on request. The mini bar was working.

Room Tip: Room no.6 had a tub (didnt see it in other rooms)

Excellent Property. This place really lives up to to its title as a boutique hotel, and in addition also offers excellent customer service.
You get complete beach view from the deck and beach is just walking distance from the hotel.

We came to Casa Vagator for a family trip. There were 12 of us all together. This place really lives up to to its title as a boutique hotel, but in addition also offers excellent customer service. There was nothing they would not do for us & trust me we are a demanding lot. So from me and my family a great big thumbs up to the Casa Vagator, Goa, India.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Casa Vagatore, along with some friends, and at the end of the trip, I was left with mixed feelings.

The property is cute, clean and comfortable - no question about that. But the penthouse room we booked was hugely over-estimated. It was smaller than expected, and the "3 balconies" were more like one balcony and 2 tiny areas which would just about hold a grown person. The weather was lovely though and at night if we left the doors open we got a lovely breeze.

The decor of the room was odd though - someone has obviously tried to make an effort but really missed.

The music from the club next door did NOT end at 10pm - intact the first night there it went on all night. If it was just from 4-10pm as we were lead to believe it wouldn't be too bad, but this is an exaggeration as there were no fixed times that we noticed.

However worse than the music, was the construction work that was going on at the hotel. Every morning began with a battle between me and the reception, repeatedly asking them to instruct workers to not shout outside my window. And even worse than the workers was an annoying woman who was yelling instructions to everyone and talking at the top of her voice. Shocking that management would behave like this and not realize that sound carries. And worse still that they would not inform us ahead of time of the work going on at the property.

That said, the food was good (albeit slow), the staff were EXCELLENT, and the property itself is wonderful as it is on a cliff above the beach. Our friends rooms (cheaper than our penthouse) were very nice and their showers worked way better than ours. There were rodents scurrying around at night though and this is something that the management needs to look at.

In a nutshell, the location is great, staff are great, but the property is badly managed, and I have no idea how they are going to handle the excess of guests once the new rooms are ready.

I work with hotels and see great potential here but someone who knows what they are doing needs to spend a few months turning this place into what it could be. It really won't take much, just some genuine care.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms facing the pool are nice. The penthouse is ok - but tacky decor.
