Utorda Beach is a part of the long light coloured sand stretch, between Arossim in the north and Majorda in the south. Good variety of beach shacks in season. The slope is gentle and the waves are not rough. Access is easy, both from the beach and from the road.

The sad part is that water sports have appeared, bad for the environment because they pollute the air and water with kerosene exhaust and leaks. Jet Skis are dangerous for bystanders. The authorities need to promote sailing, wind surfing and boarding, rather than mechanized water sports.

Preserve the environment and Utorda Beach.

Loved the quietness of this beach however access to the beach and parking can be a bit of a challenge. Take a scooter if you can.

I recently spent two months in Goa, India, and was living in Majorda. During my two months I saw many of the famous southern beaches (Palolem, Patnem, Majorda, Colva etc) and many well renowned northern beaches (Anjuna, Arambol, Vagator, Baga etc). Far and away my most memorable experiences were at Utorda beach. The beach itself is truly pristine with perfect white sand and calming blue waves set against a backdrop of beautiful palm trees. During most months the beach is almost entirely void of tourists giving it a very special relaxing and peaceful feel (it gets more busy during the Christmas/New Year's period).

Balton's beach shack is the must-go establishment here with excellent food, drink and service available. The unforgettable staff speak a multitude of languages fluently (including English and Russian) and are always friendly and truly very helpful. Camillo's shack next door is also amazing with similarly stellar attributes.

Scooters and motorbikes can be hired very cheaply in the area and accommodation can be found for very cheap or for a steeper price (and subsequently far more luxurious).

If you're looking for a relaxing time with sun, sand, sea and palm trees, Utorda beach is the place for you.
