One can have a trip with the toytrain outside the museum (not included in the entrancefee), it will take you to Mellrichstadt and back. There is a station beloging to the museum outside, as well as a 'bauernladen', a 'farmshop' which sells souveriers, memorabelia, sweets, ect. The open air museum is well kept. It has old houses, buildings and farms which are typical for the area. It is typical 'Franken' , an area just at the border of Bavaria, but not typical anymore to Bavaria. We started our tour via the mill, went to have dinner at the museumsrestaurant, as it was nearly noon when we entered the museum due to our toytrainride. Meant a lot more people already present in the museum, thus more difficult to take pix without the visitors. One tip if you'd appreciate to have 'empty pix', first visit the museum, early hours, and make the toytrain-trip in the afternoon.
