We went here at Feb half term so had booked a reasonably priced almost all-inclusive package through Brentaski staying at the Gran Baita. The hotel itself is large and very old-fashioned in a 60s/70s decor retro sort of way. However, it's clean and mostly comfortable (apart from hard pillows) and I doubt they would have the funds to renovate and remodel the interiors. There is a large bar area downstairs which was cosy for apres-ski. The rooms are a bit larger than the usual ski offering - the bathrooms functional if dated - included nasty clingy shower curtains!
Breakfast is always a bit of a disappointment in Italy and here there was a selection of some cereals - no hot options apart from cold hard boiled eggs and once we saw some rather limp scrambled egg. There was bread, ham and cheese, some croissants and Italian type dry sponge cake...no fresh fruit on offer. Evening meals were average quality. There was usually a choice of 3 options for each course - often a pasta starter which was nice. Mains included pork (we think) on 5 out of 7 nights. There was a traditional night when the staff and chef brought out a large roast pork joint which was served up with flair. We had to use the hotel's small shuttle bus each morning and evening to get up to the lift - in principle this is fine, but it was always busy and you will wait some time each morning waiting in line for your turn. Our teenage boys thought it was absolutely fine, but if we went back to the resort I expect we would want to stay somewhere nearer the lift to avoid the bus each day - but overall it was good value for money and we had an excellent ski holiday.
