We were there in mid October.
We arrived to Male airport quite early in the morning (with Qatar airways) but transfer was quick and problem-free. Actually having a boat transfer is really good because another flight in a small seaplane would not be that great I guess.
When you arrive to Male you have to fill a form before passport control; then you keep the stamped piece of the form to hand it back while you are leaving the Maldives.
Weather annoyed us a little but it wasn't disappointing at all, we had our share of sunlight. By the way, rain should not be a worry because swimming in the rain when it is 30 degrees is fun actually. the real thing that ruins fun was the wind getting pretty strong few times.
We had one deluxe and one standard room. except the deluxe room having a bathtub&shower, a little more space and absence of awkward flooring in standard rooms, difference is not colossal.
Rooms have kettle, tea, coffee and you are given small bottle of water per day per guest. So you can sit down on your porch at night and listen to the ocean with a cup of tea.
About the electricity, it is 240V with British type sockets but there was an universal adapter supplied. Also on the hairdryer there was the built-in socket which is labeled both 110V and 240V but I am not sure if it works both ways.
Important thing about the room is location. One good and bad thing about Bandos, it is not that small. So you can have long walks breathing freshening air but again you can have long walks carrying stuff of your kids.
Our rooms were quite far from the reception & pool area and from each other. Second day when I noticed the neighbors are checking out I asked for a change and it was handled promptly.
Food was really good overall. Buffet breakfast is not varied as in resorts at home but enough to be full up. There was the fastest chef I’ve seen at the omelet station. He was really doing great with four pans at the same time.
For dinners we did not eat at the buffet. Others were fine with good food and service. Contrary to general idea, I do not think prices were excessive if you compare with a nice restaurant anywhere and adding to be in Maldives on top of it.
As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a magical thing about the island. Although they told us there was 400 guests at that moment, you do not feel any place crowded and that was great. I kept wondering where are all those people. Even around the pool there was always free space available. (well what can I say, my kids love the pool even when there is a marvelous sea steps away)Pool was really nice and clean.
Beaches are a little narrow but great anyway. Snorkeling is wonderful with all those colors. Do not forget to swim across the passage through the reef. It is on the right handside of Sundowners bar marked on the maps and at location. Scene at the end of it really surprised me. We spotted there couple of nearly 1m long black tip reef sharks. And when we were snorkeling at another spot some other time we happened to swim to the edge of the reef; there we saw a 2m long black tip shark (the type which looks scarier) slowly passing before us.
We did not do any excursions but tried the spa. It is pricey a little bit.
Night entertainment was moderate to OK. One night there was a good band and Sand bar was full. Very good exhilarating music. Cocktails are around 10 dollars each with a specialty every evening.
Overall, Bandos makes so much sense. It is a reasonable place with all the lovely things you experience in Maldives.

it is just beautiful...we almost used all the services, diving, baby sitting, excursions...the staff is really good, nice and kind. They accomodate all the requests we had for us and daughter with a smile. There is also a nice guy at the sand beach bar that speaks a very good Italian, if you're Italian and don't speak english you can ask Shatish, he will surely help you.
We did full board which is good if you have small kids. Next time we go there we'll take half board to have more time during the day to go to events and escurtions.
If you go there with friends it might be a bit boring the entertainment, but if you're with kids, couple or family you don't want to be bothered, it is just perfect. Maybe I would have added some sessions of yoga or pilates in the gym and more activities for toddlers.
Keep it up, great job

We landed at the Bandos Island Resort for a day trip. It cost us around $135 per person n included the transfers from Male' ,lunch and some activities. Overall the day went good, we did snorkeling and enjoyed relaxing under the sun on the white sandy beach . The island lacks para sailing, otherwise it was a good experience.

Visited Bandos Island Resort for a day trip and after spending the day, one always wish to come back here for a longer time with the loved ones. It was like a dream time; beautiful small island, with clean and perfectly white-sand beaches, palms and plantation, huts and villas; home reef around the island making it a lagoon all around; a paradise for snorkellers and divers. The restaurants and bars were very good with a sumptuous buffet lunch served. The scene at sunset was priceless too.
A day trip costed $145 per head, inclusive of all taxes, speedboat ride from Male and back, the buffet lunch.
Definitely a place to visit, for a day trip or for 3-5 days.

After an amazing week spent on a dive safari boat, Bandos was just what we needed to recouperate and rest! We booked on the all inclusive package, and it was definitely the best deal for us. The drinks available on the all inclusive were extensive, and were not the 'cheap' spirits you'll find in many all inclusive resorts. The buffet meals in the Gallery restaurant were exceptional, and despite our fears, such was the variety, we didn't get bored with the food during our whole week stay. We did treat ourselves to the Lobster dinner one evening though which was fabulous! The staff were also excellent, recognising you by name and room number within a day or so - I have no idea how they do it!

Bandos is the perfect place for beach-loving sun worshippers or an active couple. Yeah we laid on the beach, but we also snorkelled (the house reef is stunning), jet-skiied, dived, went night fishing, kayaked and windsurfed! The massages are great too :)
