I and my wife stayed one week in bandos hotel. They upgraded standard room to deluxe without any extra fee. Everything was amazing. I didnt find anything that I could complain about. Very helpfull and polite stuff, very delicious foods, fascinating nature and beach. I recommend everybody to visit the paradise on earth!

Stayed in bandos for 5 nights, amazing house reef as we could see sharks and lots of fishes while snorkelling, well maintained beaches, rooms are good everything is great except the billing process as the entire resort staff with the diving centre, water sports division etc have been trained to add lots of taxes on your signed vouchers as they term it as a hotel policy and irrespective of your objections against unsigned vouchers and addition of taxes you have to face the sharks at the front desk as they are just rude and rigid. It is good that they do not charge you tax on the number of fishes you have seen each time while snorkelling, may be after reading this review they may seriously consider it!!

Room Tip: Standard rooms particularly 176 onwards are located on quieter side with excellent sea view

Got to Bandos on the 13th from Egypt! Wow! What a place! Loved the sea and the white beach. Room was fabulous! Service was great. Variety of buffet style meals each day. However, rain dampned things up a bit. Was informed that this is the rainy monsoon in the region. It certainly did not dampen the spirit to go snorkelling in the house reef. Disappointments: Politics! Apparently Maldives is becoming a military state and rumours of banning alchohol/pork in the resorts. Gobsmacked that this resort also belongs to Vice President of the current government! Worrying thoughts for future trips. Next stop: Singapore!

Just back from a 4 day holiday at Bandos island resort. The resort is very close to Male airport, 20min transfer by speedboat. No more descriptions on this island resort as it just duplicates.
What we enjoyed the most was the beaches which were so close to the standard rooms. Even though I cant swim, still managed to do snorkeling in the house reef with life jacket on. The house reef has artificial channels for access with balloon markers connected by ropes, which was helpful to hold on for an amazing view of the underwater life.
The resort offers a lot of activities and we opted for the sunset dolphin cruise, night fishing and glass bottom boat ride. We could see a lot of dolphins cruising along our boat, jumping and dancing alongside the Maldivian sunset. The night fishing was a good one, though we did not manage to catch any fish. The glass bottom boat is a consolation for those who could not snorkel and takes around the island's reef with an amazing view of the colorful fishes, corals and underwater life.
We opted for half-board, however would recommend only bed and breakfast unless you are a heavy eater.
Wi-fi is offered for free only in the sand-bar and obviously there were many pads, notebooks and smart phones roaming around the bar.
Check the bill for mini-bar charges to avoid any surprises.
Overall, a great experience at not so heavenly prices.

Room Tip: Standard rooms have the best beachfront and house reef access

Stayed at Bandos in a Deluxe Room in October . My wife and I were amazed at the professionalism of the staff and the high level of service on offer . From the moment we arrived we felt at ease and the island staff were so friendly and accommodating. The island itself has a wonderful reef for snorkelling and the day trips on offer were varied and relatively cheap. The room was fresh and spotless and seemed to be continually cleaned throughout our stay , without us once even seeing the cleaner . We read other reviews of this island before we left and were a bit worried about the cost of food , I can honestly say that there was a lot of cheap meals available most like 12 -15 dollars US which is cheaper than local places here at home . The breakfast buffet was good and you can expect to put on weight with the delightful breads and pastries on offer . I rate this island highly and wish to congratulate all the staff for making our holiday fuss free and relaxing .

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra for a deluxe room as it's quite spacious.
