Just back from 7 nights at this beautiful resort. We had two deluxe rooms that are a stones throw from the ocean and were great. Ticked all our boxes. Free water was replenished every day. We didn’t use the mini bar as it’s crazy expensive. Lovely shower and very comfy bed. The beach is divine. It wasn’t overly busy so we always managed to get four sun beds but not so sure you would when it’s fully booked.
The all inclusive is great. The best we’ve had. The food is excellent, especially the curries and naan breads which are made to order and cooked in a tandoor. Gorgeous. The alcohol was very good and not watered down lol. I had the lager with my son which was either Tiger or Lion. Both very good. My wife had the white wine which she liked and the spirits/cocktails were good too.
There is a very good gym with excellent equipment considering the size. The watersports club has good equipment. There is a lot of coral in the sea so deffo get some beach shoes. We absolutely loved this resort and the staff are excellent.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5* is for the following reasons: there are no mattresses on the sun beds and they get pretty uncomfortable after a few hours. The only reason I didn’t give it 5* is for the following reasons: there are no mattresses on the sun beds and they get pretty uncomfortable after a few hours. Twice we went to the beach bar (we only went 3 times in total and two times never got a drink) and there was nobody manning it. We waited and waited and nobody turned up. When I asked a man from the watersports club he just shrugged. If the Barman has to leave surely there should be cover instead of a sign saying Back Soon! Also there are no spirits for the AI. Only beer. In the main bar you get them so why not here?
The main bar in the evening is open until 0100 but for the all inclusive it ends at 1145. So if you want to stay until the end you then have to start paying. Having shelled out a huge amount for four adults I feel this is money grabbing. All inclusive should mean all inclusive not when it suits. Also the music in the bar is awful. It was like a night out in Ibiza every night. OK if you like rave every night but the age demographic is pretty much all middle aged people. Very few people ever danced. When my wife asked for something a bit older, a couple of 80’s tunes came on and the dance floor filled up. But after 3-4 songs it reverted back to the same dross so we gave up asking.
My final whinge relates to the return info. My wife went to ask what time the speed boat transfer would be the next day and they said a letter would be posted at 1900-2000. They knew our flight times weeks before so I don’t know why it took so long. The letter duly came and we went out and had a few cocktails to see out our trip. We went to bed at about 2330 thinking we had to be ready for 0715. Then my daughter came to our room and her times were 1:30 earlier. When I went to reception they apologised and we’d been given the flight times for a different flight but they’d put the correct flight number on the sheet so I didn’t question it. If my daughter hadn’t read the letter when she got back to her room we’d have missed our transport and our flight. This was a very serious mistake as my wife and kids have both flown back to the UK today from Dubai and they’d have missed those flights too.
On a final note I want to emphasize we absolutely loved it in Malahini. The staff are lovely and aside from the minor niggles it’s a fabulous location. We would definitely go back. If they get mattresses for the sun beds and stop charging for drinks in the main bar for AI it would be nigh on perfect. More
