In this day and age, with Internet used by all to drive a long distance based on a website that showed this place as open, only to find a piece of paper saying closed on the door on arrival is not acceptable. In fact there were twelve other families who'se holidays had been ruined by wasted trips here due to inept incompetent staff and management. In this day and age, to have incorrect websites is totally unacceptable. Get it sorted out rochepot! If you are thinking of going, try a different chateau. Don't gamble your precious holiday time on this place!

The chateau has been beautifully restored to its former glory, and is well worth the entry fee if you haven't already been to lots of other chateaus.

There are bits to explore on your own, and then a tour in french with the english translation provided in writing.

Allow about an hour and a half - parking is easy.

The best bit is having to knock on the big door with the older knocker to gain entrance!

Worth the $10 to get in. Catch a tour and even if it is in French she will pause to translate. Thai is a great example of life a wealthy family during the "Nights of the Roundtable". The castle has been restored recently and is well preserved as an example of the era. Don't miss it.

We had a lovely tour of this Chateau. I speak French but my wife and the other couple with us do not. The tour person was able to give some excellent explanations. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, even worth a 30 minute diversion.

The facility is in excellent condition and beautiful in all aspects. Well worth a visit. It was not crowded when I was there, which is a blessing. As they say, I's good to be King. but Rochepot was just your ordinary nobility, and it's interesting to see how these nobles lived.
