Right from the very moment of our arrival we’ve been very well treated by the few but friendly staff whom I can only congratulate for their excellent overall hospitality skills. We’ve had some great meals too. Nothing special, but all rather tasty. Breakfast was a delight with a wide selection from cold cuts to fried sausages covering eggs, milk products and several different types of bread and bread rolls. Dinner was also a treat with a buffet of 3-4 different main courses, starters and at least two different desserts.
This place is among the more expensive ones on the market right now and claims to be four-star superior, to which the spa facility doesn’t fully live up to. The sauna area is rather crowded and obviously lacks any concept. It’s like the different (otherwise unusually small) saunas were just placed beside one another to wherever they fit.
Before I’ve booked it I’ve also read those reviews that said that the hotel was a little tired and quite frankly I simply didn’t believe them. After all, this hotel has only opened a couple of years ago, so how could it possibly be tired? And it isn’t. What it is, is neglected.
Thru the hotel you get the sense of the lack of ownership, and this peaks in the room. I was surprised how could a room that’s relatively new show so much wear, but I guess that is more telling of the previous guests than the hotel. I also understand that damages cost money to repair. But does it cost anything to tighten up a few bolts so that the socket wouldn’t hang on its cables from the wall? Or the showerhead-mount wouldn’t just hang at the end of its screws? Perhaps putting the edging back over the bathtub properly? Or to remove the spider nets from time to time? And before you’d think it hurts my sharp sight only I want to point out that these faults are clearly visible and painfully obvious. And I’m not listing the dirty wallpaper, burnt curtains and broken edges of nearly every piece of furniture.
We did have a great time but the hotel hardly have any part of that.
