“Neglected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

Right from the very moment of our arrival we’ve been very well treated by the few but friendly staff whom I can only congratulate for their excellent overall hospitality skills. We’ve had some great meals too. Nothing special, but all rather tasty. Breakfast was a delight with a wide selection from cold cuts to fried sausages covering eggs, milk products and several different types of bread and bread rolls. Dinner was also a treat with a buffet of 3-4 different main courses, starters and at least two different desserts.
This place is among the more expensive ones on the market right now and claims to be four-star superior, to which the spa facility doesn’t fully live up to. The sauna area is rather crowded and obviously lacks any concept. It’s like the different (otherwise unusually small) saunas were just placed beside one another to wherever they fit.
Before I’ve booked it I’ve also read those reviews that said that the hotel was a little tired and quite frankly I simply didn’t believe them. After all, this hotel has only opened a couple of years ago, so how could it possibly be tired? And it isn’t. What it is, is neglected.
Thru the hotel you get the sense of the lack of ownership, and this peaks in the room. I was surprised how could a room that’s relatively new show so much wear, but I guess that is more telling of the previous guests than the hotel. I also understand that damages cost money to repair. But does it cost anything to tighten up a few bolts so that the socket wouldn’t hang on its cables from the wall? Or the showerhead-mount wouldn’t just hang at the end of its screws? Perhaps putting the edging back over the bathtub properly? Or to remove the spider nets from time to time? And before you’d think it hurts my sharp sight only I want to point out that these faults are clearly visible and painfully obvious. And I’m not listing the dirty wallpaper, burnt curtains and broken edges of nearly every piece of furniture.
We did have a great time but the hotel hardly have any part of that.

Room Tip: Their double bed isn't really a double bed. It's two singles beside with separate frames and...

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room met all of our expectations, the wellness area is very beautiful, best place for relaxing. Thank you very much for the friendly staff, they helped us a lot to make our stay comfortable. Special thanks to the waiter, Istvan, who was extremly friendly and did everything to our satisfaction during our stay.
We had a great time in this hotel, we definitely will stay here next time.

Weekend stay outside of Budapest. Getting to the hotel from the station at Rackeve is an easy 10 minute walk on the flat and no problem with bags.
The Pools and Spa facilities are great and probably of a higher standard than some of those in the city. The reflexology treatment I had was great but the ability to speak English among the Spa staff was very limited. Some hotel staff do speak English quite well.

The bottom of the indoor pool was dirty and the Spa area itself felt a bit dated however outside, it is colourful with numerous pools and a Thermal Spa. Great for kids.

Quiet location in countryside just outside of Rackeve - which is worth a visit.

The room was OK but showing some tiredness. Water pressure seemed to be a problem at certain times of the day with a weak shower flow but we managed

Food was disappointing. The breakfast was limited - the earlier you arrive the better. The weather was hot but not everything on the table seemed to be refrigerated well.

Overall a pleasant experience away from the city but the hotel food and accommodation has room for improvement.

It is a bit off the beaten track but the hotel is worth a visit. About an hours drive from Budapest the hotel is in a nice setting in the countryside with numerous swimming pools and slides etc. Over the back of the park there are two thermal baths which are superb. The hotel itself is good but has signs of beginning to get tired. We were very impressed by the food which is from a help yourself bar but a wide range of choices and good quality. The hotel seemed to close on Sunday night without warning and having been out for the evening we got back at 22.30 and found the hotel locked up with no one on reception. Phone calls did not work but after half an hour we found a rear entrance with a security guard who then let us in. We were attending a wedding at the hotel and it proved to be a good venue with a marquee set up in the grounds. There is a bit of a problem with language but the staff are friendly and tried their best. Room service was a bit hit or miss with rooms not being cleaned until late afternoon and then things were missed, towels not changed etc.

Room Tip: Personally, I would try to get a room to the side where you overlook countryside rather than the swi...

Wonderful spa facility with amazing massages, go see Bea , she seems to know exactly what your body needs to relax. Spend the day steaming and soaking in the healing waters. They also have a waterpark with slides and big pools outside. They have lane swimming inside. Don't miss out on this.

It is a cosy little 4-star hotel of unexpected quality given the relatively quiet southern tip of Csepel island, approximately 1 hourdrive from Budapest downtown, in the romantic little town of Ráckeve. The hotel seems to be part of a thermal spa and pool world complex popular among locals and guest of other lodgings, actually rooms face directly some pools vivid throughout hot summer days. Be prepared for some noisy and crowded daytime in this time of the year. But, as the spa possesses both indoor and outdoor thermal pools, one can count on a comfortable relaxing retreat at other seasons.

The room was spacious, and nice, though some smaller shortcomings were overseen by personnel (cleanness was not complete, a light bulb was broken), a warning sign about service devotion. Reception personnel was helpful still, as well as dining aids.

Dining was usual buffet style, a wide variety of warm breakfast dishes are served (not very common in Hungary!), quite a nice feat given the very small size of the hotel. The same for dinner, although here variety was significantly less than usual or expected for the price and level of the hotel.

A disappointment were complimentary room accessories: no shampoo, soap, pen or sewing was found in the room, only two travel size drugstore items provided (body lotion and tooth paste). Towels were of medium quality too (disappointment, as you would probably use them a lot together with any shampoo, after your numerous pool visits).

Of cource, main attraction of the location is the wealth of water recreation, themal bathing, mingolf, and various activites in the resort as well as dwelling in Ráckeve proper.

All in all, it was unexpected to find find such a high profile lodging so deep in Csepel island, still, I hope that this quality will prevail, unlike many Hungarian hotels, where long term service enthusiasm seems often lacking.
