This was so much more than expected. The more you participate the more you learn and enjoy what is going on. It's in French so some understanding is a plus but you can certainly enjoy the music regardless. It is so upbeat that it's difficult to stay put. The stories are so good and a must to hear as they are told in such an animated way that you can't but enjoy them. Good value for your money.

We went to the Acadian day ''tintamarre'' on august 15th 2013 that took us from Downtown Bouctouche to the Pays de la sagouine with our two toddlers, it was amazing! The entertainment was great, the kids got their faces painted and really loved it! The Acadian spirit is really captured during this day. It did take us a very long time to get to the island once we arrived but that was to be expected since there was around 2000 people arriving all at once. The actors really bring you in to the festivities as well, they do an amazing job!
** This is a make believe village that showcases the french acadian community from old times so it is expected that the shows and most services are provided in french only.**

This cultural gem is an treasure for those of you who like history and want to learn a bit more about the Acadian culture and food found here in New Brunswick. If you can go to the French versions, it is better but they do offer English versions...check with the facility to find out when. Well worth the visit!

We spent an afternoon there this summer, and caught a nice bunch of musicians (Les Bagosseux) performing on stage. They happened to be touring New Brunswick promoting the World Acadian Congress 2014. It was an excellent show, and the Island is a great place to visit.
