Our time at Troiz was fantastic from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The staff certainly knew all about making a guest feel important, from our personal welcome by Marie the manager to the note in the room, breakfasts delivered to us every morning to ensuring our on time arrrival at Perpignan for our departure, we could not have asked for more. The people at the hotel were also friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful. Every person we encountered from the chap at front desk, maids and even the gardener were super, across the board. They're accomodating, eager to please but very discreet as well. Our suite was great! Both the bed and bathroom were a good size and the appointments were lovely. The mugler toiletries were simply luxury. pleasure perfumed scent and lovely packaging. Location was superb, easily reachable from perpignion airport. Troiz is situated in a small villageon a quiet street. I simply cannot say enough good things about our stay. Troiz is my choice for a french boutique hotel from now going forward. We had a most memorable stay - and hope to relive another one again soon!

Room Tip: We would recommend the pinot suite. It's very cosy and cool.

pluses - i loved their breakfast yogurt. luxury in a cup with fresh berries and granola. it wasn't included in their free breakfast but i must say, it was worth it. celebrated our wedding anniversary here and ordered in some casual room service one lunch time. i'd be lying if i said it wasn't my first time having lobster cakes with chunky juicy bits. it was just incredible enjoying such a delectable delight without stepping out of our room. certainly, dining at the hotel was icing on the cake alongside the ever friendly and tip-top service. i did read the reviews on TA and very pleased to contribute my own. we picked the merlot room, stayed four nights. the whole hotel is non-smoking... major plus in my book!

minus - did wish we had a car or some form of wheels as there was apparently lots more things we could've seen and done. hotel had a central location IF you have a car otherwise you're at the mercy of hefty taxi fares. some restaurants nearby. the one opposite was opened weekends. the cave restaurant behind was quite good but needed reservations. we might just return again next summer!!

We are very pleased to recommend this hotel to our friends. It's a small property, not part of a large chain, feels unique and down to earth, posh, well-designed and beautifully maintained throughout. We had a choice of having breakfast outside on our own terrace or right in front of the pool. It's not a buffet style kind like at those big hotels. You actually get it served on a large silver tray! I fancied it better as there was no pushing and shoving around or hoping there's any good bits left. There's also more privacy with this style of breakfast but if you choose to eat by the poolside, there are some lovely views of the mountains. All said, our days at this hotel started off wonderfully with every breakfast which were not only delicious but visually beautiful. We kept to the free breakfast set of home-made breads and delectable pastries, also the quantity was more than adequate. Service also always came with a smile. The only downside I can think of was the air conditioning in our room. I would have preferred to sleep with the windows open but we couldn't possibly let the mozzies fly in. There was a fan mode on the aircon unit but it was too complicated to change the mode. I forgot to pack along my iphone charger but the hotel reception lady allowed me to borrow one for free throughout our 6,7 days there. I very much enjoyed the space and exclusive facilities that were apparently only shared by just guests of the 3 suites in the hotel. So all in all, our stay was pretty brilliant, fun and relaxing. I would recommend it to any visitor to France.

Room Tip: Suites with cellars have much more space.

We used this hotel as a very comfortable base to tour the languedoc area. For a pampered and genuine taste of french country living, this is it! Have to agree with most of what´s been said about the yummy breakfasts(best french toast ever) and stylish appointments of the suite but I have to persaonlly vouch for the very warm and attentive service we enjoyed. politeness was a little lacking at so many places in france hence we were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and respect displayed here. Service was omnipresent but discreet, room was always well made up and spotless. The entrance to our suite led right into the garden and patio at the side, let´s not forget the pretty pool that was a whole 10 meters away. plus not a soul around.... just us and our thoughts...

So yeah, we were in rural france, restaurants were just round the corner, sun was at our doorstep and aside from being overwhelmed bythe great looks and cool esthetics of the hotel, we did take in a few sights like carcassonne and Le train jaune. Just sad we only stayed 5 nights. wish it was longer simply cos we really had a heck of a good time.

Room Tip: the suites with cellars are larger. we chose pinot but merlot was pricier but larger!

This was our first visit to this region in France and are so glad that we found Hotel Troiz for our accommodation. The property more than exceeded our expectations. The rooms and furnishings were well done and we loved the private wine cellar in the Pinot suite. But, what made the stay memorable was the service. It is a small operation, but they provide a high level of service -- very welcoming, gracious and professional. Our concierge was so helpful in providing suggestions on regional places to explore and visit. He never steered us wrong with restaurant recommendations either. The location provided a great base for our explorations - we found we could take day trips and be back at the hotel for a quick swim in the pool, a glass of wine and then dinner. (You definitely need a car to get around.) The breakfasts were wonderful -- loved the variety of freshly baked breads -- and most mornings we were able to eat on our terrace. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer -- we hope to make it back again.

my wife and I procrastinated a little too long and we couldn't get the dates or the suite that we were eyeing. In the end, we redcued the length of our stay and kept it for the tail-end of our itinerary after our exploration in Provence.

What a change it was. For starters, there were much less tourists around, less congestion, landscape was altogether different but just as much sun! It was rustic and organic but still charming and authentic in that olden french way.

Getting a dinner booking was never easy either and that's when the zippy service of the reception manager helped at times. Fact is, from the cleaning maids to the reception desk, we found the service always discrete, unstuffy and polite. The tips on the best places to visit around were great too.

Would certainly come back if we had the chance again some day. Our room was simply grand, even had its own outdoor terrace! Quite an exceptional stay with a reasonable price tag!
