What a beautifully packaged morsel in the south of france. In my opinion, this hotel represents all things plush, warm and perfectly mediterranean. The plus is that we found it very calm and oozed such exclusivity. The hotel as quite a gem and our 4 nights felt a tad too short. Believe us, we left with heavy hearts.

Our suite, Pinot, had a wine cellar in the basement and in the lounge area, an elegant and cozy feel that inspired us to spend many hours reading in it. Froñm our bedroom, we had a lovely view of the pool each morning and by night, it was lit and glowed enchantingly.

The general manager was very well-informed about things to do, see and eat. Without her help, I think we may have missed out on quite a bit of fun.

Everything was well-presented and selected for one´s pleasure. We looked forward to each morning´s breakfast either by the poolside or on our cozy sun-kissed terrace, and for me, the sunny eggs ben. The room service menu had some great dishes and the wine list in our room had reds, whites, roses and sweet wines to match. Naturally, it was a delight to pick out the wine from our own wine cellar each time.

From day one, we were charmed off our feet. If we had the chance, we´d do it all over again. Our experience at Troiz was so worth it!

Room Tip: Suite Pinot is spacious, in the mid-price range, occupies 3 levels and has a great view of the pool...

Hotel Troiz is one of the most unique places you might stay. Each Suite has a wine cellar or wine cabinet.

3 separate Suites, 2 on multi-levels and 1 on a single level. Public rooms are in another building, separated from the rooms by an infinity pool with large loungers inviting one to stay in with the wine cellar amenities in the suites.

Fitou, the village, has many wine cellars..... tasting rooms, so one might avoid the rather high expense of the hotels offerings by walking around the village tasting rooms.

2 nice restaurants are nearby: The Cave of Agnes is just down the lane, and le Moulin de Fitou a short drive down through the village offer very good meals at reasonable prices. The Restaurant across from the hotel, le Toit vert, is also a B and B.... We had lunch there but the duck was overdone....

The Breakfast at Hotel Troiz is provided, very nice pastries and bread and fresh orange juice and is served to you in your suite (or preferably to your outside terrace if the weather allows).....There is ample without ordering more, and we were given extra coffee.

Good hiking and an interesting "decorated" Castle to visit. This is wine country and the proprietor has many suggestions of places to go and to see.

Room Tip: We preferred the smaller of the Suites on just one level.... the stairs seem a bit steep for a night...

We spent 2 nights in this tiny hotel with 3 rooms only. Our room Pinot had a private wine cellar in the basement. It was very quiet, very clean and tasteful furnished. Every day you get a slightly different bred basket with freshly baked bred and pastry, on Sunday even Champagne breakfast (FYI breakfast even Champagne is included in the room price. However, the room were not that cheap). we got from the reception 2 recommendations for dinner in Fitou and they were excellent (la cave d'Agnès, le Toit vert), furthermore both restaurants were just around the corner of the hotel. Very elegant and quiet hotel.

...we also had the best yummy mediterranean cuisine to be had in a long while at Troiz. The food was creative, delicious and very satisfying. I highly recommend anyone staying here to take it easy and soak in the french village air and sounds. Of course there are also nice beaches close by and other restaurants to try out just outside the hotel. The suite we booked was an absolute dream... very comfortable, very clean and airy. It´s an incredibly beautiful place and I´m so glad we stayed there.

We spent a week here in late August last year and were utterly charmed. The three suites are lovely - we chose Pinot and found it comfortable, spacious and chic. It is a great base for the region and the advice and suggestions for days out and wonderful restaurants were fantastic. Dining out options abound, although a car - and nerves of steel for some of the remote mountain roads - are necessary.
Each day began with exquisite freshly baked delights for breakfast on our little terrace, then we took our host's suggestions headed out on day trips and lunched royally. Restaurants were recommended and booked for us, with driving directions thoughtfully printed out and suggested places to visit. The hotel's manager seemed to be able to anticipate any request and was ever helpful - instantly there when needed. To return to Hotel Troiz in the balmy evening and select a wonderful bottle from our cellar, enjoy the quiet and relax was bliss. Can't wait to return.

This hotel is a rarity! we had such a wonderful time at this small hotel which has just 3 suites. Our suggestion would be to book suite pinto or merlot for the underground cellars because it can't get any better than that.... small little underground cellar stocked with bottles of good french wine. We don't have a cellar back home so naturally, this was a real treat. we were there for 5 nights in early september last year and we don't regret choosing this hotel for our pilgrimage to Carcassonne and our craving for french cassoulet. I also felt very pampered with the unique thierry muggler toiletries and comfortable bathrobes. since our holiday here, we have recommended this hotel to a few other friends who have drooled over our photos. This is a great small hotel worth a stay at!

We had a superb time in this very local catalonian village and it was all due to our 5 nights in this small quaint cool hotel. Our room was more like a little villa with 3 floors and a wine cellar. The room was large and had splashes of cool mediterranean colors. The free breakfasts were good too. Step outisde of the room and you were in the garden. One gripe however. The room did not have an ironing board like the previous hotel we were at in spain. All i needed was a few swipes to uncrease a blouse but the reception told me that it would require a full laundry service that they provided but frankly, I wasn't prepared to pay for that. On the upside, I was amazed that I was able to borrow an iphone charger which I left back home. I remembered to bring the adapter but not the phone charger and the hotel really saved the day. Well, bottomline is this hotell offered us one of the most hospitable and knowledgable service we've had in a long while. We had a great time at this hotel. French country chic oh lala!
