A great, clean and comfortable bed with 4 pillows. The hotel was built in a historical house at the center of Latacunga.
The owner is very kind and helpful. He is a good contact person to ask about safe and not expensive ways to get to the Cotopaxi.
He also provides transportation to the airport if needed.

Stayed: July 2017

We stayed for a night before hiking Quilotoa Loop. Staff was helpful, room was clean and big, we could leave our luggage there for free. Nothing too fancy but ok for the price they offered (we walked in without reservation).

Problems with the booking: the room booked was no more available (???) when we checked-in.
No will to solve the problem from the staff (worthless). Only after a heated argument they offered us an equivalent accomodation (meaning room with private toilet) for a higher price (!!!?), or a cheaper accomodation in dormitory with no windows and shared bathroom.
After 2 nights of troubles, and insistently asking to talk with the manager we've been "upgrated" to a proper room.
Shared bathrom, and toilets unspeakable, Needed to repeatedly ask the staff to unclog, clean and provide toilet paper.
Evening entertainment in one of the night. Supposed to finish at 10pm. went on till late night. The room of the party was also used for breakfast the next morning and hadn't been cleared.
Service extremely slow.
Annoying "termic sheets" instead cotton ones.
Great located. The manager is a very kind person. The staff is the big issue.

Room Tip: dormitory with no windows!

Thank you for your opinions !!!, but I'll remind you that you booked cheap rooms with shared bathrooms (Backpakers- Latacunga Hostel). You did not do it for Villa de Tacvnga which is another concept .. Anyway thank you, we will try to improve !!

Nice location with a historic feel. Clean nice rooms and a friendly staff. The breakfast is, as often in Ecuador, simple and you don't get any choice. The rooms are a bit noisy but if the neighbors also go to sleep its ok. I would come back again.

Mystified as to the high ratings on TA for this hotel. On the plus side, check in was easy, reception and all other staff friendly and helpful. However, there is a strange painting in reception which on closer inspection is definitely obscene, our room was small and dark, with a bizarre and very noisy door latch. Bathroom very dated, although shower hot and reasonably powerful. Breakfast was just OK. The first night we were there, there was an evening entertainment said to finish at 10pm. At 2.30am the amplified music was still pounding. The room of the party was also used for breakfast the next morning and hadn't been cleared. Breakfast service extremely slow.
The biggest concern for us was security. No safe in the room, room keys left on the desk in reception, and reception was not usually manned when we passed through. We took our key with us when we went out, consequently our room wasn't serviced. We decided to move on sooner than anticipated, and in their favour, they did not charge us for the cancelled night. Would not recommend this hotel, and only gave 2 stars because the staff were helpful.

Thank you for your comments, this does not allow to continue improving !!!
but I remember his threats to qualify us zero. Remember, the water pump is operating schedules, it was indicated that the bomb goes off at 22H00 to avoid noise to other guests !!!

Therefore, it takes encuenta your opinion, to avoid future complaints !!!
