“The best hotel in the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

The hotel is fantastic and the walking is the best in the Dolomites - better than the Alps. The views are breathtaking. The rooms are being updated to a high standard without losing their Edwardian charm. It is a class hotel without the fuss of ostentation. Elegant architecture, stunning landscape, perfect service.

“fantastic Sunday at Braies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

We went motorbiking with friends in the Dolomities and stopped at Braies lake. The weather was exceptionally hot and there was no wind at all. We had a picnic (but I saw there is also possible to have lunch) and took a wonderful swim in the lake. The water is very clean, landscape is amazing but be advised that the water is really cold. In the hot summer days a swim in the lake is really refreshing. Anyway, I recommend also taking a walk in the area, is really beautiful and there are numerous trails.

“Bellissimo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

The lake is surrounded by steep mountains which is just so beautiful words can't describe. We did the walk around the entire lake which took us an hour and a half not speeding along by any means. Well worth a visit.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

Came here with our kayak after reading other reviews. Absolutely stunning lake with magnificent mountain back drop. Had the best boat trip around the lake we've had so far. Great lunch afterwards over looking lake. Great day out.

“Pretty but not worth going out of your way”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2012 via mobile

The water is a pretty blue as everyone remarks, but if you have been to high Alpine lakes before, you have seen similar.

The problem is that there are many, many people walking around the lake with you. You can park fairly close for 3 euros and then hike around the lake with 100's of your new closest friends! Just not my thing.

Maybe in fall or winter it's nicer. Probably good if you have small kids or older people in your group because 2/3 of it is flat.
