We loved our morning at Bollinger - it’s an iconic place even among all the other houses and grand marques in Champagne and clearly held in high esteem by many other makers. Getting the tour booked wasn’t straightforward but we eventually found the route in via ChampagneBooking.com - and are glad we persevered. Our tour guide was brilliant: Caroline is freelance and evidently loves Bollinger and the Bollinger story - she was never fazed by any question we came up with, and had some amusing and fascinating stories as well as explaining why Bollinger is at the top of the champagne tree. We understand Bollinger limit tours because they want visitors who know enough about champagne so they can explain what differentiates their brand and product without going through - for example - the basics of the manufacturing process.
At the end of the tour (you see some original vines which are 100% french, ie no phylloxera; the cooperage [Bollinger have their own Forest where they get to wood to make staves to repair oak casks]; the cellars which are just stunning) you finish up with the tasting. By now you are longing for a glass of champagne as you’ve been listening to and discussing champagne with Caroline for some time! We loved the tasting flight which culminated with the 2007 RD.
All in all highly recommended - the only niggle is that our tasting was slightly rushed; Caroline had to leave and for some reason we were not allowed to stay and finish our champagne - it was a shame to finish up like this as we loved the tour.

A group of 4 friends who were visiting the Champagne region and were phenomenally lucky to be granted a visit to Champagne Bollinger.
Our Bollinger Ambassador Caroline was fantastic from start to finish and pitched our tour at the perfect level.
We learnt so much and came away so informed and so infused about Champagne.
Appalled to hear about damage being caused by previous tours, please people have some respect or lose the right.

I can not recommend this enough.
I have never seen my friend so giddy with excitement, the perfect end to a perfect wknd.

We were a small group of 4 friends achieving a long held ambition to visit and experience Bolly at Bollinger. The tour and explanation was careful unhurried and thorough and all our questions and needs were fully met. Then the tasting - we opted for the expert experience which allowed us to taste 5 different wines - special cuvee, rose, grand annee 2007, grand annee rose 2007 and finally RD 2004. The wines were so incredibly different and the experience was thorough and felt very very exclusive.
Thank you Bollinger and Caroline

YOu get a very warm welcome here at Champagne Bollinger - the house itself is super-impressive and we had a wonderfully knowledgeable guide for the morning. The tour isn't cheap, but you get to see the cellars and then a tasting, and the champagne itself is just stunning! Loved the part of the tour where you get to see the special vineyard next to the maison itself. We also saw where they make and fix the oak barrels. It does help if you know a little about wine-making, but it doesn't really matter if you don't. You can let your imagination go wild! Our guide was more than happy to answer our barrage of questions - she seemed to know the house backwards!

They have only recently started doing tours for the general public, We were the sixth group to have been taken around. You need to book in advance, if you rearly want to do this tour you might have to fix your holiday around when you can book rather than the other way round. Our guide was very informative and a bit technical at times but that did not matter for us as we have been on several tours already. The reason for the technical stuff was that they are used to dealing with the trade and journalists who what that sort of information. Personally we did not find it too technical but a couple of others did. We were taken around one of the special vineyards in a small walled area next to the maison. we were also showen the coopers workshop and the barrel filling and the cellars plus the special selection area we ended up with a tasting of three types, NV, rose and a 2007 all in all a very interesting time
