A really charming hotel, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back. Balestrino is a charming little Italian village with views of lush green forests one way and the gorgeous med sea the other way. The owners are really friendly and speak good French and English. They also own a restaurant in the village and the food there is spectacular! So glad we booked for two nights so we could relax and enjoy this special place. We did drive down to the Coast but it was so busy and hot that just drove straight back to sit by the pool and chill! I can highly recommend this hotel.

My boyfriend and I did a little tour around Europe and came across this place at an internet cafe whilst looking for some relief from camping through storms. The hotel was in the most secluded small town which you reach after an exciting drive up the winding roads, it is situated with stunning views overlooking the pool and amazing scenery. The rooms were modern, very clean and came with a free safe. The owner Raimondo was an excellent host as well as a wonderful chef, there is a little restaurant he and his wife also own up the road which you can eat at and put on your hotel bil, I recommend porcini risotto best thing I have ever eaten. The breakfast was basic but included in the price no complaints. This was one of our favourite stops in our 3 week journey and would definatley go back to get away from the world again, loved it!

Stayed one night whilst on a motorbike trip with my girl friends. The hotel is lovely, very clean with a swimming pool and terrace. We even had a room with 3 single beds, which was an unexpected surprise. The owner is a lovely man, who speaks Italian, French, English and German. It was all very relaxed with plenty of good humour. We ate at his restaurant in the village, the food and the service were excellent and it was not expensive. Recommend that you try their "fougasstini" it's is incredibly moorish. The countryside is beautiful, and whilst it's only 10-15 mins from the motorwway you do have the feeling that you are really in rural Italy.
I will be going back next year with my hubbie!

Up a narrow winding road about 15 minutes out of Troino, we weren't sure we would ever find this place; and all our explorations of the area started with the white-knuckle ride. We also decided that we'd leave a night earlier than planned.
Breakfast was minimal: yogurt, meat/cheese, & prepackaged rolls.
The small room was arranged so that it was impossible to open/close a door/window without banging into something else. But, it was very clean. There was a small but pleasant balcony for enjoying the gorgeous scenery.
Finally, the walls were terribly thin. We were able to participate vicariously w/all the activity in the next room - conversations, bathroom use, and - well, nuff said.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early Sept 2009. The host Raimondo is a charming man ably supported by his friendly wife.THe room was very clean and comfortable whilst the food was very good in his restaurant nearby. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and very serene. We had a delightful stay with plenty of good humour between us and the host. Highly recommended for a base to tour the Italian Riviera.
