This is an amazing place to visit as the many visitors will agree. The forests and rocks are a sight not to miss. There are also many sights to see. We now live in Huelgoat so are not visitors anymore.

“lovely atmosphere”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

we've eaten here on several occasions and have always been pleased with our visits. The cafe has a pleasant, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, with a good choice of menu. Look out for the various concerts and performances and a superb library of books to read and buy.from time to time. There are also exhibitions.

“Incredible walk in the woods.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

The "jumble" of huge boulders was amazing. Like a giant playing with blocks. An easy walk for anyone reasonably fit. Highly recommend this wonderful work of nature. Children would love it!

“As good as the photographs”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Really amazing place, enchanting views of mossy rocks, good climbs up and down for the adventurous. Very busy with (mainly French) visitors in August, so possibly worth an early morning visit for the most atmosphere. Torch useful. Plenty of free parking in Huelgoat (town square and along lake, vast overspill car park at Mairie) and at many points on roads running near the woods.

The booklet by Wendy Mews, widely available locally, has excellent maps and suggestions. Using this, we also walked up to Arthur's Camp (views very overgrown but nice paths) and along part of the upper canal, and drove out to the menhirs. From Arthur's Camp we ended up at Les Deux Rives cafe, rather disappointing (slow service, dry cake, no loo, run out of local products) but still welcome after a walk.
