The view is magnificent. Truly one of the best we’ve ever had. But it does have it's downsides. Having this panoramic view comes with a short distance from the port. 6-minute taxi ride. But the taxis charge extra because it is so steep and dangerous. 20 to 25 euros per trip. Prepare yourself if you plan on renting a scooter. You will need an international Driving license. They didn’t recognize ours, so they only let us drive a car, not a scooter, since here it’s a different license. The road is super steep and very narrow, so narrow that two cars cannot come in opposite directions. So you end up going in larger paths and backing up and stopping so the other car can pass. Really crazy stuff.
If we knew it was a pain in the ass to drive up and down the hill, we wouldn’t have booked this hotel. The owner also never mentioned we could have a lift with the tuk tuk. We had to ask. His staff will bring you to the port and pick you up when you want but be careful, twice they never picked up the phone or answered our texts so we had to spend $20 euro extra each night to come back to the hotel.
The hilarious : eggs at the breakfast buffet are raw! You need to ask to get them cooked, we thought they were hard boiled hahaha.
Unreliable wifi. No big deal as it is not a priority for us, but you cannot depend on it for work or even to book activities. Questionable pool, don’t know if dirty or old, but that was no big deal either. Didn’t end up using it.
He offers dinner and party with live music but be careful and ask the price. He does not tell you beforehand and it ends up being very expensive, and he is VERY insistent.
He does not speak English but speaks very good French (notre première langue). That being said, no worries, because his staff speaks a perfect English. Speaking of which, we feel they were kind of house slaves. They were very kind to us, but he seems extremely impatient with them. Had a bad vibe from the whole thing. They don’t look even remotely uncomfortable around him tho, so it might just be a cultural thing. They were extremely cool with us. But one talked to us a bit too much and he came rushing asking what he was telling us. Just... odd.
They make a fantastic cup of coffee!
No face towels and no extra towels. and no safe in the room.
He was also annoyed that we left early in the morning to take the ferry, he seemed really grumpy.
Anyway, we found our trip in Ischia would have been better if we didn’t book this hotel because of the location (on the hill).

Relais Bijoux is a jewel on a hill. Our family of 6 had a fabulous 4 night stay. It felt like a private villa with all the extras. The view is magnificent and there are plenty of communal areas to gather while different guests are all staying at the same time. We loved having aperitivo on the sunken terrace, breakfast under the vines, lounging by the pool and a couple of fabulous dinners on the other terrace with the outdoor kitchen. Rosanna was a wonderful cook and its well worth doing. The staff are incredible. Inparticular, Fernando, who can assist with anything and speaks english, and Lal who drove us up and down the hill numerous times on the tut tut. We also need to thank Sylvario, who acted as a tour co ordinator to help us organise our activities. He helped us book a boat for day and even shopped and made our delicious lunch to take on board! A stunning day. Owner Carlo is most accomodating and has provided an excellent B&B. Thank you again for a great holiday. PS please ensure the staff are tipped as they deserve every penny!

Room tip: all rooms open onto terrace or pool with the view beyond. They are clean, comfortable and excellent value.

This B & B is located in a beautiful setting high on a hill with stunning views and set in attractive landscaped gardens complete with small swimming pool Our bedroom was tastefully furnished and the charge included an excellent breakfast. The staff (especially Fernando) were polite, friendly and very helpful, the owner's wife even laundered a dress for me, which was very kind of her.

Our 2-night stay would have been idyllic had it not been for the owner of the property (Carlo) organizing a private family party on the second night, complete with very loud live musical entertainment which continued through to midnight, followed by at least another hour of amplified speeches, loud conversations and singing by the guests. This all took place within a few feet of our bedroom making both conversation and sleep impossible.

Despite a translated apology from the owner the following morning no offer of compensation was offered for our inconvenience.

We really liked this B&B, one of the best we stayed at during our time in Italy, but the owner really should decide whether he is operating a business for paying guests or a private house.

This B&B surpassed all my expectations! The vista is incredible overlooking the beautiful waters surrounding Ischia. The drive up the mountain is a little tricky as the road is narrow but the owner Carlo will arrange to have his driver meet you at the port.
Our room was very spacious with a separate area with a couch and small fridge filled with beverages, clearly marked with reasonable prices.
The bed had nightstands and reading lights. The bed was comfortable- a bit on the firm side but Italians prefer a firmer bed. Generous dresser and plenty of room to hang clothes.
The bathroom is very nice. Clean with a larger than normal shower. The bathroom has a fan!
The room is very pretty decorated with paintings.
There is a small pool and lovely areas to sit outside in the sun or covered when the sun is strong.
The breakfast is terrific! They will make you eggs any way you like them with the MOST delicious cornetti in Italy! Fresh and light. Yogurt, salami, provolone, bread, jams, juice and coffee as you like it.
This is a terrific way to start the day as you eat overlooking the sea. The Host, Carlo is very accommodating. There is a place to park- although small, they put the cars in and out as you need it.
If we return to Ischia- this will be our home away from home!

Set on the hillside with spectacular views this beautiful B &B really is a little bit of heaven! Gorgeous rooms.immaculately clean, beautifully decorated..I seriously could not fault anything.Carlo and his staff especially Derek make you feel like part of their family from the moment you get there. We were picked up from the port in a four man Tuk Tuk...all part of the fantastic service.Breakfast was first class...with freshly baked croissants( best I've ever tasted!)and cakes..along with fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, cheese etc.The photos do not do it justice ..Don't pass this one by,you will definitely not be disappointed! We will without a doubt be going back next year.
