This was honestly the best surprise during our visit in Ischia. We literally stumbled upon this beautiful cliff-side restaurant after a stroll from the port, not knowing where to eat. We arrived at an odd hour and the restaurant was empty. Not expecting it to be a good sign, but the view and the homey feeling on the patio and in the restaurant welcomed us.
A wonderful woman, presumably the owner and cook, greeted us at the door. She proceeded to serve (and cook) us a truly incredible, fresh and flavorful meal - from eggplant and sardine antipasti to the whole broiled fish and linguine puttanesca. The food was indeed made to order, ingredients as fresh as the sea.
I believe her son was playing in the empty dining room, alongside her mother who was hanging out looking at the bay. It felt like visiting your favorite aunt's house and couldn't have been more perfect. Little to no tourists around here (but again, perhaps the season/time of day) and the quiet was almost deafening, except for the lapping of the water below.
This is a restaurant definitely not to be missed and urge everyone to pay a visit. You probably won't find this on top 10 lists or fancy magazine must-see guides on Ischia, so I'm hesitant to even write this review because it's such an amazing hidden gem.
