First of all, this is not a service apartment, more of a holiday rental. The apartment itself is located at Plougonvelin, a seaside village about 30 minutes from central Brest. The apartment block itself looks abandoned and poorly maintained with grass growing around the building and wooden floorboards starting to fall apart.
The rooms itself are furnished basic cooking facilities, a sofa and a bed. The apartment units are dusty and seems like nobody has stayed there for a long time. The bathroom does not come with towels and toiletries so please bring your own. They will provide you with bedsheets, pillow case linings, blankets and sofa covers which you have to set on your own.
Our first room was located on the 4th floor but we requested to change rooms after a night. There are barely any railings to prevent kids and even adults from falling off the ledge and the boardwalk itself is rickety and not covered so if there is strong wind and rain (which happens most of the time in Brest), one might really fall off the building.
Thankfully, the reception was very helpful and secure us a ground floor unit the next day which made us felt slightly safer. Parking was ample and there is an indoor pool and laundry facilities. There is a bakery nearby the building and a Intermarche supermarket located about 5kms from the apartment. There is wifi only at the lobby but the signal is very weak around the area.
If you could live with all that, the unit only costs 50 euro per night which is value for money since we had to stay in Brest for about 4 days.
