Manoir de Montflambert

This B & B was in a great location just about 10 minutes away from Epernay This manoir is very old and they are still doing work on it.
We stayed in the Alcove Henry IV which was alright. The room was nice enough and spacious but the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. The bathroom was renovated and newly tiled.
This B & B is out in the country just on the edge of Mutigny. Not very hard to find. It feels like a hunting lodge.
Breakfast was sort of buffet style, breads, croissants, jams, hard boiled eggs, cereal and yogurt, good coffee....substantial enough.
Mme Stephanie was very helpful and called Moet & Chandon to reserve a tour and tasting for us.
There were nice villages beside where we went for champagne tasting and the manoir also make their own champagne. We were given a glass of their champagne when we arrived. We could also purchase a bottle from them to drink. There was a mini bar in the room with soft drinks or champagne to purchase.

If you are visiting the town of epernay I would recommend this B & B as it is not too far from the town. There are some good restaurants in the town., especially the La Cave A Champagne where we had a wonderful meal. Also the wine Bar C Comme Champagne where you can taste champagnes from the small producers of the region. Some, just as good as the big houses.
There is also a good pizza place across the street if you want lighter fare or if you are there on an evening when not all the restaurants are open. All these restaurants are on Gambetta Street.

When I was planning a surprise get-away weekend to the Champagne region of France I was at first disppointed because all the B&B I had selected were completely booked. Then I found the website for the Manoir de Montflambert and called. Madame Lhereaux-Plekhoff was so friendly on the phone and I immediately felt very good about this B&B. When my husband and I arrived late Madame Plekhoff greeted us warmly and although there was a mix-up in the rooms she showed us both available rooms and let us make the choice. However, the choice in room she subconsciously had made for us was the room we also liked best. It was the hortensia room and it overlooked the garden and the little pond. The room was really romantic and very clean - it smelled really nicely of fresh linens. The bathroom had a nice bathtub and there was of course their homemade Champagne - which we enjoyed our first night! In the morning we enjoyed an amazing sunrise. It was very special with the fog and the pond and the rows and rows of vines...
The breakfast in the morning was really nice and plenty and Madame Lhereaux-Plekhoff was so sweet.
The B&B is located at the end of the town of Mutigny - very close to Epernay and only 20 minutes away from Reims. The entire region is very scenic and there are too many Champagne-makers to chose from.

I would recommend the Manoir de Montflambert to anyone!!! We really had an amazing weekend!
