Description: Our menus are designed to offer the best and freshest of local produce, including game from the neighbouring Larchfield Estate and ingredients and dishes from around the globe. As a sister restaurant to the Award Winning Plough Inn, Hillsborough, naturally seafood is our house speciality all year round. Our aim is to offer something to satisfy everyone's tastes. Our friendly and attentive staff are here to ensure that you relax and simply enjoy a taste of "good olde Irish hospitality".

Came to this restaurant for the first time having moved locally. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent. Young staff going out of their way to be helpful and polite. Looked like they enjoyed working there and it is good to see. Lovely sharing butcher's block. Great relaxing meal. Will be back for more soon !

We were there last night for a meal. The food was very good, nicely presented and pleasantly served. However the menu on Sunday is on a card and part of it is hard to read. The steaks are not included in the 2/3 course offers also the side orders for them are extra making this option expensive. It would be good if this part of the menu was easier to read. The rest of choices are really well priced. I would go these again but be more careful when ordering.

We visited The Pheasant on Sunday and it was a set Menu - It was explained we could pay for 1 course, - have 2 courses for £16.95 - 3 courses for £19.95. Waitress asked what we would like to drink ordered a bottle of house wine and we had to call her back to take my mothers drink order.. The young man who brought the wine did not look at us as he was so busy looking at customers at the other table - We asked could we have some water also- he said he would pour the wine first which we expected - He continued to pour wine saying - SAY WHEN.We all had a lovely meal - mother ordered 2 scoops of ice cream I ordered a Tia Mia Coffee - waited 40 minutes or coffee- got up to inquire about it- told filters in machine had run out - explained we would leave it but waitress came back saying she would give it to me as price of sweet and would take 2 mins - When it eventually did come - another waitress explained we were overlooked and apologised . - When paying bill my coffee amounted to £6 instead of the usual price- The waitress also said when I was paying "You know you have to wait on coffee when you order it " never passed any remark but left tip and left. This must have been a bad day for me or them as I am a regular customer during the week - buy gift vouchers etc. so don'
t know what went wrong this time.

My wife and I with two friends ate Sunday lunch here last week and had a wonderful meal I have eaten here twenty or so times in the last couple of years and have never had a bad meal yet. We had a selection of starters and all had braised lamb which was cooked to perfection, came with an interesting selection of veg and gratin potatoes. Puddings were traditional not the usual excess of cream and sugar. Waiting staff seem to be young college students but they have been trained particularly well to be friendly, polite and extremely helpful in making your meal special. Good selection of wines and drinks which were not overpriced. An all round good lunch in the heart of the country with an excellent car park. We'll be back!
