“a hidden gem off the N22”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

I eat here perhaps once a month as a former local. The service is excellent an welcoming. The menu is limited but delicious. There are ot words to desctibe the steak, melt in the mouth peice of heaven. It's a very friendly, relaxing place for informal dining with a warm fire to greet patrons. You definately wont leave here with an empty stomach as the portions are quiet generous. For a light snack, i would recommend the gammon ham sandwich and fries (ther fries are delicious and not your usual fare). Highly recommended,

“fine fare”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

great for lunch time sandwiches and home made beef stock based vegitable soup. Good plain salads. Fine rare roast beef sandwiches. Fantastic steak, chips and onions from the grill. Consistently good. Excellent range of wine. Good pub food. Quite rustic, old fashioned and worn inside. Dont be surprised if a friendly dog visits you while dining.

“Farran's best kept secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

The Thady Inn is the best kept secret in this part of the world.

I went first to meet friends and have a social drink only, but seeing the steaks, as well as the good service I went back and I can report that it.....

Does the best steak. Ever!

The Thady Inn does steak as it’s main event , which comes with a plentiful supply of chips and salad. The service is friendly, welcoming and warm. Well pulled pints are also on offer, a selection of wine is also on offer. Other dishes are served, but all around me were ordering steaks.
It’s a no fuss type venue and well worth the trip out to it. Value for money? very good value.

“Best Steak Around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

Love, Love, Love this place....so simple yet effective and so damn tasty. Don't be expecting anything fancy, menu is very limited...go in order a Steak and a drink and enjoy every minute of it! The steak is €23.75, worth every penny, comes with salad, fried onions & chips, you won't leave hungry. And if you have room after all that, try the Chocolate cake...Delicious. Staff are local and very friendly. Can't wait to go back again.

“Best steak in Cork”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2008

The Thady Inn is a quiet whitewashed country pub, set back off the road. Simple, no frills, fantastic juicy well cooked sirloin steak.

There is always a nice fire or two going, and the friendly pub dog sits outside the front door, or comes in to the fire. Inside is also whitewashed, with slighty ramshakle tables and chairs, a bit like an old kitchen. No airs and graces. It's warm and relaxed.

The menu is small and simple. I think there is an egg salad option, and possibly a pate with salad, but we never had anything other than the steak. Options with the steak are Chips, Salad or Onions. No posh sauces, no mushrooms, and it doesn't need it. You can have mayonaise, mustard and I think ketchup...

They are always perfectly cooked, and loads of the side dishes are provided if you need them. There's a couple of reaasonable house wines on offer as well, and the pints are well poured.

Dessert is either apple tart or chocolate cake. Both warmed and comforting. Both delicious. I wouldn't change a thing.
