The park itself was incredibly beautiful. Wonderful trails to hike, great campsites and great view from the lookouts, but if your furry four legged friend is your inseparable camping partner, please avoid this park.
We were camping there last fall and fellow campers warned us of the presence of ticks.
Sure enough our dog came back home infested! We pulled more than 20 ticks off of her and recently we found out that she does have lyme disease and we are dealing with the treatment and expensive bills. Not to mention the consequences of lyme disease in humans if you or your children happen to get a tick too.
Enjoy the great park but be very diligent in inspecting yourself and your camping partners.
