“Don~t take your dog to this park”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

The park itself was incredibly beautiful. Wonderful trails to hike, great campsites and great view from the lookouts, but if your furry four legged friend is your inseparable camping partner, please avoid this park.
We were camping there last fall and fellow campers warned us of the presence of ticks.
Sure enough our dog came back home infested! We pulled more than 20 ticks off of her and recently we found out that she does have lyme disease and we are dealing with the treatment and expensive bills. Not to mention the consequences of lyme disease in humans if you or your children happen to get a tick too.
Enjoy the great park but be very diligent in inspecting yourself and your camping partners.
Safe camping!!

“Something for everyone”

Sand beaches, camping, hiking, paddling. Stay the day or a week. Some primitive campsites, many in campground. Excellent fishing. Not far from Kingston or Gananoque.

“Beautiful but noisy”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

My family and I stayed at a very nice site, right on the lake. The campsite was clean and the view was amazing. Wireless coverage was also very good. The hiking trails are top notch. Do not miss the trail that leads you through the hemlock forest. Definitely one of the nicest hiking trails we have done.

Here is why I struggle to give the park any more than 3 stars. It was noisy. We had a group of party people right across from us. They were with several groups of people surrounding us. They had no regard for any of the other campers. Way past midnight we had to listen to their loud, foul language, music and shouting and they had two dogs off leash. My husband asked if they could keep it down but he was ignored. He ended up driving down to the park office to ask the staff if they could try and intervene. I believe that one of the staff did drive out to ask the people to be quiet but they were also not successful. When we complained they told us to move to a new site. The next day we moved to another spot in the park. By this point, we were quite annoyed, we lost our beautiful view and ended up cutting our trip short.

We would go back as a day trip but never again to camp. Its too bad as the park is really a hidden gem.

“Nice hiking trails”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

While I camped here quite a few years ago, more recently I have been there to go hiking. They have a number of trails and I think I've been on all of them, some more than once. A couple of weekends ago we went on the 10 km hike for the second time. Good hike and we'll probably do it again.
