Owner description: The 1000 Islands Tower (formerly known as 1000 Islands Skydeck) is a unique tourist attraction located between the spans of the 1000 Islands International Bridge on Hill Island. Running continuously, the elevator takes only 40 seconds to reach the first of three observation decks and provide visitors with a spectacular photographic opportunity as they enjoy the panoramic view of the 1000 Islands and St Lawrence River stretched out 400' below. The first deck is glass enclosed and wheelchair accessible. Visitors can browse our Gift shop, exchange Currency and enjoy a Cup of Coffee in our Skydeck Cafe.

“A lovely view”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

The Thousand Islands look like a thousand islands. There is very little else. Some shopping, but the main interest is this extraordinary part of the St. Lawrence river where the water has yet to completely erode the rock, but is working hard on the job.

“Great view from the top”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Friendly staff and good price for the view, definitely liked that we got a discount for staying at the hotel nearby the Hill Island Resort. May not be much but it adds up when you go with family. Thanks

“Breathtaking view”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

As you would expect, the view from 400 feet is spectacular in any direction, especially in the fall.
We went on October 9th and the foilage still looked beautiful. The cost per adult was around $9. There are three observation decks -- the first and lowest is glass enclosed, but the second and upper-most decks are open air. There was no attendant on either of the upper levels. The difference in thrill level between being in the enclosed deck and the upper levels is dramatic and not for the faint of heart. Don't look down!! People seeing the tower from a distance or in brochures frequently have the erroneous notion that the spiral outter staircase is used to go up and down. In fact, these are simply emergency stairs and not used by the public unless the elevator should go kaput.

“Oh! Canada”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

As being a summer resident of The 1000 Islands for more than 40 years it is easy to overlook the local "Tourist Traps" I pass during each trip up north from Rochester, NY to the Canadian side of The 1000 Islands. BUT The SkyDeck is worth the price, especially in the Fall. You will think you are looking at one of those beautiful postcards you can buy in local gift shops! Better than the view from the rim of the Grand Canyon! If you have the time take the tour boat ride out of Ivy Lea for a incredible up-close look at the hidden homes on these 1000+ islands. Stay on the Canadian side for a quieter, slower pace, or the US side for a more commercial atmosphere. Don't miss the tour of Boldt Castle on Heart Island. Fill up your gas tank in the USA before going into Canada.
