I endorse everything that others have said about the food at the Clos de la Prairie. I stayed in one of the beautiful ground-floor hotel rooms, and ate twice in the restaurant. Elegant decor, lovely view of green hills from the windows, and presentation of each delicious dish so superb that I had to go and get my camera in order to photograph some of them!
The menu is reassuringly short, with three choices per course, so I suppose if you stayed several days and ate in each night you could find it became repititious. But the chef proposes the odd extra main course dish of the day, so I expect it is possible to ring the changes.

We'd booked in to the Hotel and so use of the restaurant was logical...and what a result! Excellent ingredients, fantastic service and a secluded setting made for a lovely evening. You won't get a cheap bottle of wine here, but what you get will be superb! I look forward to returning on a Summer's evening when we can revisit the experience with the benefit of the stunning views.

Thanks entirely to Trip Advisor, we found this little gem of a restaurant an hour or so south of Calais.
We were warmly greeted by the patron (who is also the chef).
After a very pleasant amuse bouche of a creamy fennel voloute accompanied by a home smoked trout and courgete combination, a delicious starter of fois gras and vanilla salt.
The main of vealand chocolate pudding perpetually delicious.
A super restaurant for a day trip lunch!
Many thanks

This small restaurant is owned by a young couple - he is in the kitchen and she does front of house. We have dined here about six times over the last two years. Although the menu is limited (choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts), it does show that all of the food is freshly sourced and freshly cooked. The standard of cuisine is very high; the components of each dish are carefully crafted to maximise their flavours and the presentation is certainly to Michelin Star standards. The service is excellent and friendly but without being intrusive. We particularly like dining here because of the informal and relaxed atmosphere. Our next visit to this wonderful restaurant just can't come soon enough !

This is a hotel and restaurant worth seeking out. Stylishly converted from old farm buildings, the restaurant has been open for 6 years while the hotel (with 8 rooms) is a newer venture. The rooms are modern and elegant and each has a stunning outlook and accesss to outdoor seating area. The bathrooms are very stylish with large walk in showers. Tea and coffee is available in each room. The restaurant is spacious, with an outside eating area for warm evenings. The food was wonderful and at 37 euro was excellent value; with amuse bouche and sorbets this is a 5 course meal.
We were made very welcome at this family run business and cannot wait to return.
We highly recommend this hotel and restuarant.
