My partner and I stayed for 7 nights . On arrival the reception staff was very polite and even though we arrived approx. 2 hours early they checked that the cabin was ready and allowed us to check in which was great as we had travelled a long way from Sydney. The accommodation we chose to book was the garden view cabin, this was very clean and very roomy for the two of us. We enjoyed the convenience of the BBQ that was close to the cabin which was always cleaned by staff ready for the next day! :)
The wild life was abundant with all breeds of birds, lizards, frogs, beautiful kangaroos and possums. The grounds were maintained and grounds staff very friendly.
We loved our evening swims in the resort style pools. With beach access a quick walk I was able to take some great shot of the sun rising over the surf.
We recommend for people to go and stay and have a great time like we did you won't be disappointed. !! :)

We stayed at the Darlington Beach Resort and Holiday Park from 19 to 21 January as a stop over on our trip to Queensland. We decided to stay 2 nights so the kids could utilise the park facilities, like the fabulous pool and games area. There is also a beautiful beach and if you were camping (which normally we are) all of the camping areas are very well spaced out and most looked nicely shaded.

We were very happy with our Gumnut Villa #9 and the price was excellent value compared to other parks in the area, the one negative was that there was no oven, as we had packed food expecting there to be full kitchen facilities. There is however a stove and microwave. We had 1 meal from the Cafe and that was lovely. The outdoor living area of the villa was also lovely, we enjoyed a nice bbq on one of our nights.

The only other negative was that in the main room of Gumnut Villa #9 the bright orange street light shines directly into the ensuite bathroom and reflects of the cupboard mirror into the bedroom - this however was resolved by closing the bathroom door...you would not be able to sleep with the door open. Some blinds on the ensuite window would also assist.

An extra TV in the main room would also be a bonus, especially with that many people staying in the one villa :-)

The park is a little tricky to find from the Highway as there is not very many signs posted, until you turn off the highway. If you had no accommodation booked and wanted to just stop somewhere, than you would not even know this place existed. Whilst we do not travel in this area often, we would definitely be happy to stay again.

Great location, on the beach and accessible to nearby fishing areas. Lots of activities for the kids and you can feel confident that they can explore without getting into trouble. Amenities were also very good, lots of BBQ's, camp kitchens etc so didn't feel like you were fighting for space, even during the Peak period over Christmas holidays. Found the pools a bit small for the crowds during Christmas and the Cafe struggled to keep staffing up to the demand.

Room Tip: Garden Villas are very good, not on top of each other and open up out to playing field and BBQ.

We have stayed at Darlington for the last 3 years. It does offer a variety of great opportunities for families to relax or engage in lots of activities. The professionally patrolled surf beach at Christmas time is always a bonus. Although the toilet/shower facilities are tired and on a regular basis a few were blocked, the facilities are kept clean. For the price of the powered camping sites it would be great to see the facilities updated. My main concern is the need for smoking and non smoking camping areas. We were camped within one metre of a group that had several, heavy chain smokers. We were exposed to smoke when ever at our site and at night the smoke would be in our tent. This was a major health concern for our family. By the end of our stay all surrounding sites had smoking guests. I strongly encourage NRMA to consider joining other family holiday parks to offer smoke free camping areas for its health conscious guests.

It’s great to see that you and your family have been enjoying everything Darlington has to offer for a few years now.
In conjunction with the park management company, NRMA recently conducted a review of all facilities and prepared a new park masterplan. This identified a number of improvements that will be implemented on a rolling basis over the coming years, with refurbishment of the amenities and upgrades to roads being just some of the initiatives that will be undertaken.
A non-smoking camping area is a great idea, and definitely something we will be looking into going into the future.
Thank you for leaving this review; we look forward to welcoming you back for a fourth year!

This Park is fantastic for a family holiday - we really didn't want to leave. it has so much to offer everyone - a great resort pool (plenty of shade and sun lounges), huge spa, on-site restaurant that serves delicious food, kiosk, playground, golf course, bowling green, 2 jumping pillows, go-karts, tractor rides, playing fields (for cricket, soccer, tennis, basketball, a bmx track - take your bikes or hire them there). Also a great Activities Room run by a wonderful lady Joan with a well planned timetable of daily activities - the kids painted boomerangs, sun catchers, did sand art etc (1/2 price for NRMA members). Night time they had a Disco, Bingo, Movie Nights, Laser Tag. So you can have a day of non-stop activities, or some relaxing downtime or a bit of both! We stayed in a Gumnut Villa which are great for families; in middle of park, but secluded, surrounded by trees and bushes. Campers we spoke to were very happy also; apparently the biggest sites around. Kangaroos and wildlife roam the park; ducks come up to your door; kids love it. A short walk to the beautiful, patrolled beach. The park is located 20 mins from Coffs, but we loved that you didnt really need to leave once there. (Supermarket and cafes 5 mins away at Woolgoolga) Our children loved the place and met lots of friends. They couldn't wait for each morning to plan what they were going to do for the day. It was a wonderful, fun filled, also relaxing and laid back holiday. Everyone just walks around so happy and having fun. Thankyou to all the friendly and helpful staff.. we will definitely be back! Loved it!

We stayed at a powered camping site in a camper trailer.
Best things - Campers are surrounded by wildlife: kangaroos and all manner of birds, well-kept grounds, large pool and spa area with ample shade and chairs/sun lounges. Clean amenities. Excellent summer activities program for kids, including many free things to do. Quiet during the day. Reasonable price. Free wi-fi to keep in touch with family at home. Easy to relax!!
Downside - The basic camp kitchen caters for the non-powered sites and is located accordingly. We needed to drive to the camp kitchen each evening because it was too far to carry our food, cooking gear, dishes and washing up gear. (Would be nice to have a camp kitchen in the powered area too - not everyone who camps in this area travels with an equipped kitchen.)
Quite noisy at night - trucks and highway traffic. Cafe is pricey for families.

Hello and thank you for leaving a review in regards to your stay with us at Darlington Beach Holiday Park. We appreciate both positive and negative feedback as we can use it to keep on improving the park for our future guests. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the majority of our park facilities during your time with us.
With regards to the camp kitchen, while it is located within the unpowered area of the park, there are a number of powered sites in fairly close proximity to the kitchen. Please do not hesitate to request a site closer to the kitchen next time you choose to visit us and we will do our best to accommodate you closer to this facility.
With regards to the highway noise, the upgrade of the Pacific Highway sees a speed zone change directly outside of the Park, and as trucks use their exhaust breaks to slow down, the tranquility of the Park is definitely disturbed. As the upgrade will unquestionably increase road safety and provide a more efficient passageway, we believe the minor and temporary noise disturbance to the Park is a small price to pay. When the road works progress further along the highway, the Park will be restored to its usual serene and peaceful state.
Thank you again for your feedback and we hope that you decide to stay with us again in the near future.

We spent 2 night in Plantation Villa on Dec 2013. It was a great stay in a nice park. The kids spent nice time in the swimming pool and jumping pillow. The only problem is that, the park is far away from Coffs Harbour.

We like it and we recommend this park.
