“A Relaxing Holiday”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Visited this hotel about 5 years ago and again this year. It was lovely that some of the staff remembered us. Check in very speedy, lovely spacious clean room with all usual facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at the hotel. The hotel has a wonderful peaceful setting, the spacious and well looked after gardens run right down to the beach and the hotel is convenient for a walk up through the small village. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of dishes, something for all tastes.A very relaxing and peaceful holiday

Went here for an all company offsite. Given the age of the hotel and the fact thats its 4-star it definitely delivered to its brief. food was ok (not that much choice but what was there was good), rooms were nice and big (Goa standards), facilities were all working execpt the dirty indoor pool (which seemed to be getting renovated) etc. Nice beach too.

Yes! you could read Hostel. That's what I felt when I read the welcome letter. We had checked in with a huge group and mind you we had nearly booked the full hotel. The letter said that "if we lost the electronic room key we would be charged Rs.500 for replacement" well had they charged that they would have surely made a Lac of Rupees if not more. The second point said "the stock for tea/coffee sachets in the room will be replenished only once a day for free the next time it will be charged and same was the case with bottled water" Excuse me who is there to have Tea in GOA?? Whereas Water...well you must be kidding right??

The beds have a warning " No Smoking In Bed" pasted on it. The toilets stank of stale cigarette smoke which I later discovered the toiletries bath gel had that smell. The toiletries were sheer disappointment for a five star hotel. The least they could do is change the TV in the room it is still those huge CRT ones. The room keys do not function that well (imagine paying Rs.500 for loss of such keys). The staff is so-so not that courteous or warm, food is decent tasting but the choice on the buffet is very limited. The Gym is way below average...yes people do want to work out when they are on vacation. The spa....didn't find it too tempting to even check it out and the casino, well I was not allowed even a peep my shorts were a inch shorter than their house rules. The cottages are decent, I didn't find them to be that great compared to the room I had stayed.

Overall a decent stay, we had fun coz we were a huge group.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms near the spa coz god forbid if there is group like the way we were the atrium around...

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in October 2012. We stayed for 3 nights. It was great to be met at the airport and have a shuttle drive us to the hotel. Check in was straight forward enough, we had our welcome drink and our baggage was taken to our room. The room was spacious, two double beds in the room with a table and chairs. We couldn't get the tv to work but never got round to asking for help! We liked that there was a balcony with the room and we could sit out and look across the gardens towards the beach. The bathroom was clean and presentable. There are some parts of this hotel that do seem a little outdated, but also in a way quaint and historic almost. Lots of different areas to have a drink or some food through the day/evening, with an indoor and an outdoor pool. We spent some time in the fitness room which could do with some new equipment adding to their collection. The main draw back for us was the internet connection, we paid the 600 rupees and then couldn't get a connection even whilst sitting in the reception area or literally having the computer on the reception desk! We showed staff who were very apologetic and refunded the charge. We had meals included with our stay, we were very impressed with breakfast and lunch but dinner in the garden was a hassle with all the bugs. We only ate outside in the evening once and then ordered room service the rest of the time! The outdoor pool was nice, well kept with attentive pool staff and plenty of loungers. I especially liked that it was a little stroll through the gardens and you were on the beach. We did go for a massage at the spa, a little hut behind the hotel and it was amazing! The spa facilities on the ground floor seem more up to date than most of the hotel.
All in all a nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I'm not 100% sure it's 5* but that depends on personal taste. Great for a relaxing break away, not a great place to keep on top of emails.

Room Tip: Ask for a beach facing room. Lovely views. Make sure you keep the doors shut though as there can be...

I visited Majorda a couple of days back and was totally disappointed with the entire experience. Here are some of the things I came across.
1. A cockroach in the room.
2. Brownish water from the bathroom taps.
3. Uncooked or hard meat ( chicken, esp ) at almost all the meals.
4. Stale and stinking bread for every breakfast.
6. Cleaning of the room only after several reminders.
7. Really really BAD kids corner. Nothing there is maintained. In fact it looks like the ruins from a war affected area.
8. Outdoors swimming pool not functioning.
9. Indoors pool filled with dirt and insects and we even spotted 5-6 tadpoles swimming with us. I had to repeatedly tell those guys to clean the pool with the nets.
10. No exhaust fan in the bathroom.
These are some of the things i remember. If you are looking for a 5 star experience, this place is definitely a NO NO.

We had selected this property for its competitive pricing but the service quality made us wonder how they are still in business. While the view and the property is very good, the service quality was simply horrible, same goes for the quality of food. Renovation work was going on, so only a single restaurant was open where we took our buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of the people employed here work like robots, just doing their work without compassion, same goes for the room service people and other employees. In the restaurant, you can play pick-a-boo while searching for spoon, fork and knives and asking for a desert spoon would make you look like an alien. They are never kept at the same place. You have to ask for each service yourself before they are delivered.

The room was good. Although, cleanliness is only ensured if you check yourself and ask the room service. Our room was on the top floor with the balcony facing the garden and the sea. The view from the room was excellent. The beach is also nice.

Although we had a good time but the service quality is definitely not what is expected from a property rated as 5 star. I hope this guys will do justice to the beautiful property and the beach and will improve their service quality. For us, we will not be going back to this property on our next visit to Goa.
