“A great restaurant with great ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant, set in a medieval courtyard just off the square in St Antonin Noble Val. It is best to book as it always gets very busy in the season and is popular with French and the Brits alike.
We sat outside in a pretty garden and were offered a good menu. This was not hugely extensive. I guess they concentrate on doing what they do really well. By about 8:30 the restaurant is almost full and there is a great atmosphere.
There is also a steakhouse adjacent with a completely different menu which often acts as an overflow for Tentations.
We would go there again and again

“Stunning medieval architecture and great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

Beffroi Tentations is a relatively large restaurant situated in St Antonin. Seating is available outdoors in a large medieval courtyard sheltered by parasols or indoors in the restaurant. The outdoor seating is excellent with a friendly atmosphere which accommodates all age groups and also offers excellent views of the architecture. The staff, although sometimes hesitant to speak English (something which I feel churlish mentioning), are attentive and regularly stopped by our table to check that everything was okay. Additionally our food came out at a decent pace considering how busy the restaurant was. The area immediately outside the restaurant is also very pleasant with children frequently playing and a strong sense of local community.

The food at Beffroi is, on the whole, very good. We have been several times and always left feeling well-catered for and full. Perhaps too full on occasion, for the portion sizes at Beffroi are on the larger size. Particular mention has to go to the salad entrées which are inventive, well-balanced and invariably delicious. As long as you can get past the fact that your starter can exceed the main in both size and cost, I would recommend experimenting with them. All of the meals we ordered were well-presented. The wine selection is, contrary to expectations, small but we found them to be perfectly enjoyable.

In summary, Beffroi Tentations is a fine place for a family meal, offering very good food and generous portions at a fair price.

“Beautiful setting, nice food but s l o w ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

We, 4 adults and 1 21 months old, went here for lunch and we were there for 3 1/2 hours... Luckily our little boy was incredibly patient and well behaved, otherwise we might have had to break off our lunch experience. The food was good but not as imaginative as one might have hoped. It was not inexpensive - our total bill for 4 came to 216 Euros. Mind you, we did have to order extra wine in order to bridge the huge gaps between each course. The staff were friendly but disorganised. They were not in charge of a section of tables, so that quite often two waiters would attend to us on the same mission (like bringing extra cutlery). Very often they did not know which table to serve and would look around for a table that was likely to either need drinks or one of the courses. Overall we did enjoy our lunch but feel the front of house needs to be better organised.

“Real French experience with international touch, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

My mother is living in the neighborhood and took me to this restaurant during my last vacation. Beside the amazing location 'Beffroi' (one of the oldest public buildings in France the waiter told us) the food is just great. I had the delice d'aphrodite which is made with delicious coquilles. The staff is young and friendly. Big recommendation.

“Great food, wonderful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

We tried this place because of the Trip Advisor reviews, and we are glad we did. We arrived in town on bicycle, so, after a tour of the Sunday market we were REALLY hungry. We ate outside next to the old city wall and tour. The ambiance was great. The food was equal to the location. We had the Salade Gourmand followed by a Magret de Canard and then Sorbet. The house wine was a great value. All in all, it is hard to imagine a better Sunday afternoon.
