Although the welcome was friendly, the rest of the stay was awful. The room was adequate but pump action soap, guest basket full of creams from other hotels, mattress lumpy and hard, pillow thin - horrible, horrible.
The breakfast room was very very tired with exposed wires dangling out electric sockets and another broken one. The plates, cutlery and glasses were all grimy - I had to sort down to find a clean bowl.
Breakfast - I chose cereal and asked whether there was any fruit available. No such luck. The milk was decidely rubbery.
The budget full English breakfast which my colleague faced had one of those ghastly sausages with a plastic jacket on and contained everything but the squeak.
And the Daddies Tomato Sauce... expiry date October 2008. I pointed this out to the proprietor? who told me not to worry as the bottles were regularly refilled from the kitchen. Lovely---yuk. Suggested he might change the caps in case Trading Standards paid a visit.
Outside the rooms - paper waste and leaves and general detritus blowing around.

Simply cannot recommend this place. Awful.

I was down from Blackpool for a short break and booked into the Three Tuns with 2 friends, it was easy to find and plenty of room to park right by the back entrance. the bar area itself was very clean and homely, we were met by a lady at the bar who was very welcoming and showed us our rooms, the rooms were ideal for what we wanted, clean, and fresh smelling. we had steak dinners which were cooked as we asked, came well presented on a very full plate!! great friendly service and the young chef even came to see things were ok, i believe he also runs the three tuns with his partner who kept all entertained at the bar. breakfast also was very good though i still felt full form the last nights dinner.
all in all we had a great stay, i have put word out in blackpool to anyone who goes to suffolk to give this little gem a visit. thanks to the guys and girls who keep that place the way it is.

We booked this place because we were going to a friends party on the Saturday night, our heart sank when we saw the dark, dingy, smelly very dated tiny room, unfortunately we knew there wasn't much around there and had trouble booking somewhere In the first place. This didn't stop us spending the saturday afternoon desperately trying to find another place to stay. We finally gave up and got use to the idea that this place was the only option. The bed was so hard i think the floor would of been more comfortable if it had been cleaner. Anyway room horrible hated every minute so wasn't holding up much hope of a decent brakfast ...but apart from trying to find a clean plate the food wasn't too bad except just cheap quality I usually like red sauce with my breakfast but couldn't bring myself to touch the nearly empty dirty 89p morrisons sauce bottle. All this for £75 a night yes we felt done!!! in other words don't bother if you want a quality place to stay.
