A good place to escape from the city. The cleanliness at the staircase need to be upgraded. Maggots at the bundles of black plastic bags out side the car park lifts and used bedsheets can be seen at the walkways to welcome you to your newly check in family suite which is not a smart idea from the management of the resort. Overall, this resort is located about 40km from Kuantan Town and a quiet place for peace lovers but sometimes, children's shouting till midnight were disturbing. The Water Park is just a walking distance from this resort. You may enjoy the food at the resort, But for those who prefer to try the local food, you may travel to Kuantan town.

This is our second visit to BGRC. Last visit we stayed at Carribean bay, this time we stayed at Arabian Bay. We stayed in 2-bedroom apartment on 2nd block, 3rd floor (Room 2315). The apartment was quite big (tough smaller than Carribean Bay), complete with dining table for 4, fridge, living hall with sofa and a balcony (pool view).

Hotel/Room:
- Variety of food for breakfast with average taste
- Great swimming pool ( with sand beach and above water gazebo)
- Smaller bedroom compared to Carribien bay
- No TV in Hall area, but each room got about 20" LCD TV (with good tv reception and USB port, you can play movie using that)
- Free Wifi (Not fast but fast enough to check and update FB, tweet etc)

Waterpark:
- Broken wave machine at main beach (Coco beach) so not so fun
- Visit during low season, less crowd

Room Tip: - Block 2 (close to swimming pool, steam room and gym) - high floor to appreciate the view - Odd room number (so you get pool view) eg: 15(our room)

We stayed in the arabian suits and the rooms were relatively newer then the Caribbean suits. Nice clean hotel and a hideout in the jungles. Good spread of dinner buffet and breakfast. Quite a good variety of food. Children enjoyed the pool and the out door activities. Overall a good family bonding experience.

This place needs a drastic change in order to maintain the visitors to come back here .. I am not satisfied with the service and the management of BGRC .. especially at the Water Park .. Counter open is not able to accommodate the number of users as well as it has caused them to have to line up and stand for too long just to get into the water park .. why the BGRC doesn't allow visitors to bring food or water? While only a few stalls selling food alone is not able to accommodate the huge total number of visitors! We had to line up almost two hours to get food and drinks! Water quality was very dirty! because when I was swimming in Journey of Ice or Glacier River .. I saw a frog swimming very close to me .. This situation is very disgusting!! When I went to check in at the hotel the Arabian Bay Resort (I was transferred from Caribbean Bay Resort for the last minute!!) and when I got the key to the room went into the room I found that it was very scattered, dirty, and has not been updated yet as promised! And when I get a new room too .. the whole area of the room smell of cigarette smoke ..

I sincerely hope that the top BGRC not take appropriate action against this problem .. Thank you ..

As with any hotel the best way you can judge it is by going during the holidays and that's what I did with my family during Chinese New Year. The rooms were clean but there was no room service or a bellboy service. The rooms also had a lack of children's channels and this being a resort near a water park you would think that they would at least have a few Astro channels but there was no Astro at all. The rooms did have wifi which although slow was decent to keep you occupied.

The management during the check in was horrid, it was so crowded and there were hardly any counters open so we had to wait for a while in the lobby to be called. Also the breakfast service was the worst I ever experienced, there was no one who took our coupons and that essentially meant that anyone from the street can come and eat for free. The food was average and the amount of food served was menial, you would think that during a holiday season they would cook more but there was hardly for any of us and we came quite early during the breakfast.

Finally the place is in the middle of no where and the restaurants nearby are lacking in terms of quality and cleanliness, a decent restaurant is at least 30KM away.

The staff however were friendly so it was not all bad.
