“Tranquil and homely.”
Reviewed October 5, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We had a lovely stay at La Cavee, the cottage and surrounding areas are beautiful and Migel went to some lengths to make us feel at home whilst respecting privacy.
The cottage was very clean and had all of the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay.

The garden allocated to the gite is quite small and may not be large enough for a large group, there is access however to other sections of the gardens which was much appreciated by our beagle. And speaking of dogs, I couldn't write this review without mentioning the wonderful 'Whiskey', the resident labrador. Like Migel he was a wonderful, thoughtful host and we greatly enjoyed meeting him.

“Lovely in every way!”
Reviewed June 30, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Traveled from Germany to spend time in the Normandy area. We were met at the gite by Migle who introduced us to her friendly and lovable dog, Whiskey! Migle provided us a walk through of the gite, gave us a few guidelines about recycling trash and really left us to enjoy the beautiful setting and wonderful accommodations. I would highly recommend this gite for families or large groups traveling to the Normandy beaches or Mont St Michel. Very good location to experience St. Malo and some of the other villages in the Normandy region that are often times overlooked. We had a very lovely time.

Liked best: The surroundings and everything about the gite.
Liked least: Many of the restaurants in the area do not open until 7:30 pm. A little late for some.

“Fantastic rural retreat 20 mins from brilliant child friendly beaches”

We hired both inter-connecting gites for two weeks this summer. The gites are spacious and comfortable. They are well appointed with everything you could ask for. Migle and Malcolm were perfect hosts - friendly, helpful and completely un-intrusive. The gites sit in lovely countryside far enough away from hustle and bustle that they are completely quiet, with only the sounds of chickens, but close enough to small towns to make shopping etc easy. The local towns are charming with excellent markets and the beaches are from 20 mins drive away and are brilliant for families. Sandy and flat with lots of space for sand castles and never very crowded. The garden for the gites is small (nicely landscaped with an array of flowers and with more than enough space for eating out with bbq/lying out/reading etc), but Migle and Malcolm open up an adjoining large section of their own garden and a paddock where the kids ran riot! We had a great time and look forward to returning (so I'm sort of hoping not too many of you read this, so they won't be booked out next summer!). We loved it.

“Clean, comfortable gite set in beautiful surroundings in great location.”
Reviewed July 31, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My husband and I stayed here with our two older children (21 and 18). We were delighted with the cleanliness and comfort of this spacious gite. We spent our days exploring the nearby towns, seaside and countryside, the Mont St Michel, the D Day beaches, Bayeux, but returned each evening to enjoy eating outside and relaxing in the beautiful garden of the cottage. So relaxing, and we all had fun playing boules together on the property. Owners were welcoming, but not at all intrusive - a perfect balance.

“What a find, relaxing, peaceful and comfortable. Excellent location.”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Stayed for a long weekend. Gite was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Owner was welcoming and extremely helpful. Visited Le Mans Race Circuit for the Moto GP, Mont St Michel and the Normandy Beaches. All locations were within easy reach by car. Traditional Saturday market only a short drive away. We had the most relaxing weekend and experienced true peace and quiet in the lovely countryside. Would highly recommend and we will certainly be making a return trip.
