Being locals we had heard about La Paris from many friends so finally popped in for lunch one Saturday. What an unexpectedly nicely fitted out restaurant with a great deli and bakery as well. We had a strange combination but it was just what we felt like. We had a toasted cheese sandwich, which came perfectly crisp and toasted on sour dough bread. You can add your own filling so we added avo. Then we tried the crumbed calamari which was crunchy and non oily, succulent and delicious. All washed down with a Hendricks G&T with pink tonic. Reasonably priced and a definite return on the cards.

Service is a little slow which we are coming to accept as the norm for this part of the world...

Now open for 6 months our 5 th visit and the food, reception and service superb!
Chef Nico produces great breakfast dishes,
Scrambled egg with fresh avo and salmon trout absolutely perfect!
Bought quality rye bread too from the deli!
A notable plus is the red and white wine cellar!

Dropped in for lunch. What a beautiful salvia lined driveway! Lots of parking. Lovely grounds. The bistro is really well decorated and blends into its surroundings. The staff are very friendly and well trained. The wine waiter was very charming and knowledgeable. And the food was good too!

We have driven past many times, and then decided to give the bistro a try.
What a lovely setting, interesting buildings and so lovely to sit under the trees to enjoy our lunch. The food was very tasty, but would have been better served off warmed plates - quite a long walk from the kitchens I suppose. Desserts were great too and staff very friendly and helpful. We would love to visit for breakfast soon and sit under the trees again, weather permitting. On our way out we stopped in at the delicatessen on site, and left with a few goodies. See you soon!

I had lunch yesterday at La Paris, a place I had been meaning to try for quite some time.

Strong points: The noise level indoors was low. It made for easy conversation. The menu presented healthy choices.

Questionable points: Tables on the main level are in a straight line between an open drafty front door at one end and the entrance to the rest rooms on the other end. It was like being seated in the median strip of a motorway. Ask for an indoor table on the lower level. Far less traffic.

The food: The calamari looked good. If I gave this place a second chance, I will try that. First, however, I have to wash the contents of the wrap off my shoes. When picked up, the flavorful contents squished out both ends of the wrap, into my lap, and onto my shoes. I ate the second half with a knife and fork. The kitchen needs more work on learning how to prepare a wrap. And now I must close and continue to try to clean avo and oil off my shoes.

Good luck here.
