Le Coutal is a beautiful home away from home that we were lucky enough to enjoy for a week (which did not feel long enough at all). We have 3 children (5, 2 and 6months) and the house had absolutely everything we would look for when away as a family. The rooms were airy, spacious and beautifully decorated, the kitchen had every utensil needed including plastic plates etc for the little ones, the pool was clean and the perfect place for the kids to let off some steam whilst we could catch some sun! We ventured out to the beautiful local villages, ate wonderful food and drank several bottles of the local wine. Thank you Bev and Chris for letting us stay in your stunning home...we will definitely be back!
Le Coutal was an amazing place to stay, in a beautiful and characterful Dordogne property. Everything worked, it was spotlessly clean and very well prepared, the directions were excellent and the local contact was very helpful. The pool was a wonderful relax place and the situation, in its valley was both tranquil and calming.
Location absolutely amazing.....beautiful house with everything you need for a chill ax.....didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back
Le Coutal is a beautiful house in a stunning setting, the views are amazing (particularly from the very sunny terrace area). The house itself is very well appointed and decorated tastefully, it contains all you need for a holiday including - if you really have to internet access, there is an outside kitchen for long lazy lunches and as mentioned a very sunny terrace ideal for pre-dinner drinks. The pool area is great and has it own mini-jacuzzi and swim against jet, loungers complete the perfect 'we have our own pool' expereince.
The surrounding area is one of outstanding natural beauty, so many towns and villages within easy driving distance including Sarlat, St Cyrpian, Domme, Castlenaud, Les Eyzies and my particular favourite Monpazier (the whole village I think is a world heritage site, and if it isnt well it should be). The Dordogne is obviously the jewel in the crown with many water based activities along its banks. Local markets abound with fresh local produce, and it goes without saying the restuarants are amazing.
