“reminded me of my roots”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

I chose this hotel based on the photographs, noting that the interior decoration style was far different from the kitch golden/satin that is ruling the majority of the Toscana region offered rooms. The terrasse was also a huge plus and the panoramic view objectively delightful.

What we found in reality, was even better. The family was very hospitable, Valeria and Paolo, the owners, are involved personally in all the matters concerning the guests. During a cold day they lit up a stove operating on wood in our room and even took personally care that the fire was set up right. All the traditional way. As for the room itself, made out of stone and wood, it reminded me of my greek roots. Simple, yet attention to the details.

Plus: Different cake every day at breakfast!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for just one night (sadly!) in May 2013.

We booked just the day before using LateRooms.com, we chose this B&B based on the reviews left by other guests on Trip Advisor.

Due to the short notice and the low price we did not expect to get any special in terms of room quality! We were very pleasantly surprised!!

Upon arrival our hosts showed us up to the largest room we have ever had in any accomodation ever, let alone a B&B!! It was wonderfully furnished, including a huge and comfortable four-poster bed! The large bathroom was equipped with an all new suite.
The decor throughout reflects the hosts passion for object d'art!
The view from the two windows on this 2nd floor room at the front of the property directly overlooks this small towns ancient and quaint town square; a lovely view!

Once we dropped the luggage in our room our hosts showed us to the terrace at the rear of the property at 1st floor level. We were then provided with a wonderful "welcome cocktail"!! This consisted of a tray filled with a medley of tasty nibbles and two large glasses of some delightful and tasty local chianti!! All on the house!!

The view from this terrace is simply breathtaking (see photo's)!!

Throughout our short stay our hosts were kind, friendly and very welcoming. They ensured that all our needs were met and were happy to provide information on local sights and attractions!!

In short; the property is superb, the hosts are exceptional and this B&B is the best we have ever stayed in, ever, anywhere!!!

You would be bonkers to go elsewhere!!

Stayed here in May 2013 and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was massive and beautiful with a lovely 4 poster bed, unique furniture and a lovely view over the town square. The price was very reasonable. The town is quite small and can be seen in a 45 min walk around but there's plenty to do and see in Tuscany outside of the town. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, the most friendly welcome we have experienced in Italy. The breakfast was wonderful, the quality of the food was outstanding and made even better by the fact that you can sit on the wonderful terrace overlooking the beautuful scenery of Tuscany. A very unique experience which I would highly recommend!

We spent three days in this wonderful place and we are amazed by Paolo and Valeria's hospitality and patience with all our requests. The family hotel is new (I think only first season) but furnished in retro style with an amazing attention to each small detail. Our room (La Pretoria) was spacious and with a view to the central square. The terrasse of the hotel has a beautiful view and enough space for kids to play. Breakfast is served on a wonderfully arranged table and you receive real espresso, not just tasteless filter coffee as in all hotels. We recommend the place for your romantic Tuscany holiday!

I spent 3 days for New Year's Eve in San Donato in Poggio on Chianti hills with my family. We found accomodation in this new b&b, without knowing anyting about it. How shuold I define this place? Simply amazing!!! The hospitality of Paolo and Valeria had been fantastic since our arrival.
The house itself is cosy and elegant at the same time. We had the feeling of being at home since the beginning. Fornitures are refined and warm, bedrooms are beautiful and breakfast was delicious, full of home-made Italian specialties.
I found the experience at Le Terrazze del Chianti simply outstanding!
Will go back there for sure!
