As a Bruckner fan, you may enjoy staying at the Stift St Florian - with all its historical links to Bruckner.
The website gives a fair impression of the accomodation. You are obviously staying in a monastary , so there is not TV or telephone.
Th rooms are bright , spacious and clean. They have whitewashed walls. The showers work well and breakfast was fine.
After all the tourists are gone, the monastary becomes veery peaceful. There is evening mass on some days. you can imagine how Bruckner would have enjoyed stayinf here and coming back again and again.
You can enjoy the great enormous organ at the demonstrations and the beautiful church. The other impartant factor in Bruckner's vast universe is nature. Walking Route 5 gives you a great 180degress panorama of the Alpine landscape. St Florian is in the Alpervorland - the rolling hills before the Alps. The great vistas and panaromas somehow are vast.
Contrast all these grand , vast things with the peace an quiet of the monastary - and you probably are in Bruckner's world.
Unfortunately the weather was not good enough the second day towalk the " Bruckner Syymphoy Way "
It is recommended to plan your trip well - not all activities are avaiale every day - and St Florian may not be the most exciting place for a longer stay
