We tried this family run restaurant on the road from Emerald Sea to town. It is a very simple bamboo - coconut house in local style. What is not simple is the quality of the dishes. Absolutely top notch! The owner and cook and family head, Mr Zaw has a background as cook in an international hotel kitchen. We have had perfectly fresh grilled fish, salads and above all his prawn and vegetable tempura. The best we have ever had. Light and crispy batter. Not oily at all. All food cooked in a very primitive kitchen at the back.
Most places in Ngwe Saung serves great food, but Silver Blue is outstanding.
A note, when you order from the sea food menu, a helper gets on his motorbike to town and picks up the fish or shellfish you have orderd from the Central Fishtank where the days catch is stored. All restaurants do this instead of buying their own. No food or money wasted!
It fees good to be able to support Mr. Zaw and his family. They are really worth it.
