My family has stayed at the Palm Beach many times over the years and were never disappointed with our experience. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay the most enjoyable possible (Ms. Bima, the GM is a delight). The beach is quiet and clean, the rooms comfortable and the housekeeping excellent. My only suggestion for the hotel is that they start to consider refurbishing the rooms since the aircons, fridge and furnishings are starting to show their age. Internet is painfully slow and sometimes non-existent (which can make for a wonderful getaway!) During holiday periods, the hotel is frequented by expats from Yangon so be sure to book well in advance for seaside rooms (months).

Room Tip: The first row "VIP rooms" are right on the beach and have a lovely veranda to watch the su...

I stayed here with my sister over the New Year's period and we had an utterly amazing experience. We had friends with us who have stayed for the past five years, and we all plan on returning again this year.

Ngwe Saung is a bit out of the way, but the staff of the Palm Beach Resort ensure you have an amazing experience right from your arrival - and welcome drink - through to your departure.

The rooms are simple, but come complete with everything you'd need, including an array of satellite TV channels. The toilet is also separate from the bathroom - a bonus when staying with someone. The breakfasts were good, and with a big enough selection to not be bored after a week.

The sea is safe to swim in, and right in front of the rooms with an expansive white sandy beach going for miles in both directions. If the waves get a bit too big, the saltwater pool is perfect to cool off in.

I really can't praise the Palm Beach Resort highly enough. My only gripes were that the beachfront 'spa area' for massages was interrupted frequently from kids in the pool, and that they seemed to have only one CD in rotation in the bar, but I just know that for next time I'll make some discs for them!

Room Tip: Ask for a beachfront room - the view is incredible!

This hotel is a nice holiday escape vacation resort. The rooms are adequately sized and have a taste of myanmar architecture. The saltwater pool is superb. You can see the sand and the sea from the pool and the lobby. The bar is bit pricey but nice. Nice breakfast too but a bit little choice. Overall, if you want to relax yourself without being ripped off, don't find any place, Stay Here.

Room Tip: the middle sea view bungalows (110-109-108) have a very big front lawn and better views

Coming for the second time after 4 years we (elder couple) spent now at this hotel 8 days in Dec. 2010. The hotel is situated in a quite area around 5 minutes bicycle drive from the village. The beach was very clean and quite, perfect for guest which like long distance walking, loneliness or just sitting and reading in the shadow of trees. There were enough lying chairs in the shadow and every day fresh towels. Our room no. 102 was well equipped and so far clean. But when you have a closer look at the intérieure you will see, some maintenance should be done after so many years of operation. But that is nothing, the nice location, the perfect service and the excellent food make you forget it. The food was so tasty, rich and at reasonable price; the restaurant located next to the pool, the staff very friendly and attentive. Here we got our best breakfast of Myanmar. The manager of the hotel (Mrs. Bi Mar) was always present and anxious to make your stay enjoyable. We will come again.

We spent 10 peaceful days over Newyear at Palm Beach Hotel. After an 7 hour drive from Yangon for 200 km (!!!). Thats the only negative side, there were almost no flights from Yangon and the street was completely destroyed after the Cyclon... But finaly we reached an almost empty beach, with only 4 hotels, all less than 50% booked... Palmtrees, Village people, fishermen in the morning and evening... The Food was great and also our Bungalow, right in front of the Beach... The Staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. In the morning we went jogging, watched the fishermen, swam in the pool and had an fab breakfast buffet... Sounds like a perfect holiday...
