terrible night, food was nothing special, and the entertainment was horrendous, i complained to the manager who was of no help, and the lady who was in charge on the night remembers us being upset, along with others..i have put a review on the Wroxeter hotel and resturant instead of this one, so im doing the review again on here!!.. what they advirtised is not what we got!! 40/50 yr old men acting like they did was not entertainment, and the ladies who clothes and handbags which got distroyed should complain too... avoid any night out there if i was you.

My partner and i stayed for 1 night at the end of July. From the moment i called to find out what time we could check in (i didn't make the booking) i was treted in a very professional and freindly manner. No issues with checking in quick and easy. We were told that due to the fact there was a wedding taking place they had changed our room so that we were the opposite side to where the function was taking place which we really appreciated. We ended up in a triple room which looked as though it had been recently renovated and to a very high standard. We had a lovely view of the Wrekin and the horses that were in the field directly in front of the hotel. We arrived too late for lunch but the very helpful receptionist very kindly had a word with the chef and we were able to still order from the lunch menu which again was much appreciated. We ate in the restaurant and although more expensive than we would really have liked to have paid we still enjoyed. Both staff members who served us pleasant and helpful. Thanks to the young waiter for recommending the excellent dessert. On leaving the restaurant we were asked by we beleive the duty manager if we were advised that there was a wedding taking place and if not then to accept his apologies and that it would finish at 12.00pm prompt. He also advised that we were more than welcome to stay in the bar or if we felt the need to go elsewhere he would understand. We were not in the least bit bothered by the wedding but we really appreciated the gesture. I would definately recommend to anyone that is staying in the Telford/shropshire area for a lovley country getaway.

Room Tip: triple room floor boards above really noisy just above the bed.

Nice hotel, clean comfortable room quite isolated and near to roman ruins.
Staff varied from helpful and friendly to indifferent .
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. With a very friendly and obliging waitress.
We booked the Roman banquet evening meal which was a bit disappointing and didn't really live up to expectations.
Overall we had a nice couple of days there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the fields.

Stayed two nights on a special deal. We are usually given the worse room in any hotel we stay in but at Wroxeter we had a beautiful (but not huge) room with stunning views of The Wrekin (a hill) in the distance. Must admit our meal (from the Taste of Shropshire menu) on the first evening was rather poor - a Monday evening, could have been Chef's night off! - but we enjoyed the Roman banquet the next evening. The hotel and grounds are well maintained and would be an excellent wedding venue and makes for a very relaxing and quiet break, both the Roman ruins and the Vineyard are an easy stroll from the hotel (though in opposite directions!) Would recommend.

Room Tip: We had Room No.6!

We stayed here for two days what a bloody nightmare, we arrived early and was made to wait 30 mins before being allowed to our room. So we had afternoon tea in the grounds very pleasant, we got to our room which I thought we had stepped back to the 80s and had gone to a nursing home with patterned carpets, very dated indeed. we had a lovely afternoon in the city and went back to the room which had been cleaned to not such a good stranded as there was hair in the shower, not mine. We had dinner in the dinning room and the food was fab and the lady that was on duty was working the front desk, the bar and the dinning room. There was NO air conditioning and when we rang to ask for a fan there was only one available and that had been taken. We got up in the night to find our wall and celling was walking with hundreds and hundreds of bugs, We had to move rooms. Breakfast staff were brill and really nice but so let down but the Roman meal for from a banquet very for from it if your a big eater take sandwiches. On the way back home we called in to Lincoln really nice town

Room Tip: there is no good rooms
