“FREQUENT VISITOR. TOP CLASS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

Having only reviewed places on my travels, I thought I should mention my local hostelrie, The Horseshoes at Dorrington. I go here a lot, with friends, family, work or quiet dinner for two. It's always brilliant, even at its busiest, you can always find a corner. If you do want to eat at peak times, I would book ahead. The menu is varied and excellent. Many fresh, catch of the day, type specials or just a lovely burger and chips, which is far from ordinary. It's possible to eat a snack on a budget or really push the boat out.

It's equally good just for a quick drink at lunchtime or evening, or a coffee in the morning. The garden is lovely. You can eat outside a lot of the time - patio heaters for chilly evenings. You can bring the dog. I haven't tried the overnight accommodation because I live nearby, but I'm sure it's good. The car park can get a bit full, but you'd always find somewhere nearby. It's easy to find. Good service. Very friendly. Highly recommended.

We live nearby "the Shoe" and decided to give it a bash.

Everything was lovely, the service was quick and the atmosphere was lovely. I ordered white bait to start which i strongly recommend, it was delicious.

Will definatley be returning.

“Fantastic Company Christmas Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012

We decided to book our company Christmas Dinner at the Horseshoes after having such a lovely time last year. The place is a joy to go to. We were a party of 30 and the staff looked after us, there was nothing we could have wanted for. I had booked for everyone to arrive 7.30 for dinner at 8pm on Saturday Night, one or two were a bit late but that was not a problem. The restaurant was full as usual, but all the food arrived as ordered and was amazing. Compliments to the chef who was so busy with a full restaurant, and so many covers, to produce such outstanding food. I have received emails and phone calls from all who attended saying how much they enjoyed Saturday night’s incredible food and all the amazing staff that really looked after us. (Makes my job organising the party so easy). So a huge thank you to Stuart and all the staff for making it a memorable evening for all of us. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

“Excellent service and food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Me and my boyfriend came here for my birthday and we found everything about it amazing. We got there early but found the bar area very busy, we asked if we could go and sit at our table and have a glass of wine, the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. The food was great, the portion sizes were very generous and we both had steaks for our main which were cooked to perfection. We felt there was no rush to go after we had finished and would highly recommend it.

I enjoy eating and drinking in this pub. It can be very lively but always serves first class pub food.
