Having only reviewed places on my travels, I thought I should mention my local hostelrie, The Horseshoes at Dorrington. I go here a lot, with friends, family, work or quiet dinner for two. It's always brilliant, even at its busiest, you can always find a corner. If you do want to eat at peak times, I would book ahead. The menu is varied and excellent. Many fresh, catch of the day, type specials or just a lovely burger and chips, which is far from ordinary. It's possible to eat a snack on a budget or really push the boat out.
It's equally good just for a quick drink at lunchtime or evening, or a coffee in the morning. The garden is lovely. You can eat outside a lot of the time - patio heaters for chilly evenings. You can bring the dog. I haven't tried the overnight accommodation because I live nearby, but I'm sure it's good. The car park can get a bit full, but you'd always find somewhere nearby. It's easy to find. Good service. Very friendly. Highly recommended.
