Friends recommended this B&B to us, after staying there for 3 nights we feel that we need to recommend this great place to others. At only 10 mins from the motorway A6 we found ourselves in a wonderful rural location at only 100m from the Burgundy Canal and the Port of Vandenesse full of interesting river boats and barges with view of the medieval village of Châteauneuf en Auxois on top of a hill! Once inside the B&B we immediately felt a warm feeling and were happily surprised to see that it was redecorated with an elegante touch! Mr Charles greeted us with a friendly smile and showed us the way to our surprisingly spacious bedroom named JULIE with ensuite bathroom overlooking the courtyard and swimming pool, loved it!! A little hungry we asked Charles to recommend to us local restaurants, offering us a KIR and relaxed even though he is an extremely busy person, he took time to tell us where to go and what to do....... Breakfast was "à la Française" with "les croissants, baguettes and brioches", served with a nice selection of delicious jams and plenty of coffee or tea if needed!! Having 2 full days in front of us, we visited DIJON, Beaune, tasted wines and bought wines, bicycled beside the Canal, and in the evening enjoyed eating out in the nearby restaurants. Quite honestly for those who are looking for a little break away from it all then go to this B&B. The only critic is is that we would of loved to have had spend more time with Charles.......a delight as he is at the same time interesting and a fun person to listen too, we will return, merci beaucoup Charles!!

Room Tip: make sure that you have your trainers with you so that you can cycle and walk beside the CANAL, oh...

Well- Im not really ure whether I liked this b & b or not!? We arrived and let ourselves in through the only open door we could find- after shouting hello a few times we were greeted by a man who seemed like he was sort of expecting us. H eshowed us to our room and then vanished out of sight without us benig able to get a word in edgeways! The room was absolutely beautiful- really really french chic and a gorgeous massive house with a lovely swimming pool outdoors (we didnt get to use it as we had rubbish weather!) on looking round the house we found an American guest staying in the lounge- who kindly told us where he'd found a fridge and what time breakfast was served! Dont stay on a Monday as if you do you wont be able to eat! The house doesn't offer dinner and the only restraunt within walking distance is closed on a Monday- which resulted in a drive to the supermarket to buy yet more bread to nibble for dinner! The local restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday and was quite good - very very french so allows you to soak up some true french culture! The b and b is located right on the burgundy canal so great if you want to ride bikes. There is a wine cellar in the village too which offers tastings. Not a lot else there though! Very clean house and lots and lots of quirky artefacts dotted about. Breakfast nice- lots of lovely jams etc. There were 2 babies staying whilst we were there and we therefore found that the walls here are very very thin- got woken up by crying at 5am one morning. Overall quite an expensive b and b but nothing really wrong with it.

In one word; Lovely!!!
A beautifully decorated building with a lovely garden and fantastic pool….Everything is well taken care off….decoration, ambiance, cleanliness and hospitality…You will immediately feel at home and relaxed.
We had a great swim, a fabulous sleep and a very romantic breakfast on the terrace in the morning…
We stayed two nights…once on our way over to our holiday destination, and one night on the way back….We had different rooms and they were both lovely…( though my 6 year old daughter preferred the last room with the pink bath tub:)
Across the street is a nice Auberge if you want to have dinner, and there is plenty to see if you want to go out and about…

This place is wonderful!
We had the room Mathilde, and it is a wonderful room, with a fantastic bathroom.
The place is huge, with lots of rooms and great outdoor space. It is a tad eccentric, but in a lovely, lovely, lovely way!
We would stay there again, and we would recommend it to anyone!
We stayed just one night, and it was a percet stopover on our way south!

We had 3 nights here for a much needed rest, and i wish we could have had a few more days. Charles is a great friendly host, the house is so relaxing - we were not given any set hours for breakfast, you can just go down when you feel like it. We met some other guests there and dined in the village restaurant, but you can be private if you want to. The village location is lovely with some country canal areas to explore. Restaurant and a pub in the village and lots more within a few miles drive. We loved our room (suite julie), large and comfy. Beautiful bathroom. Lots of windows to open for fresh air, birds singing. We will return next year. Only thing - take some soap ! :-)

We stayed here for one night in April 2011 on our way down to the Cote d'Azur. We booked the room over email with one of the owners, Marie-Pascal, who has basic English (better over email than in person). I think she lives there with her husband Charles, but he may have been away as we did not see him at all. The house is in a small but very pretty village with a great restuarant for dinner and a small cafe run by English ex-pats, which is good for lunch. The house itself is beautiful with huge gardens, a swimming pool and a tennis court. Our room, Suite Julie, was huge and was decorated in a very ornate regency style. It had both a shower cubicle and bath, which we found was relatively rare in France. Breakfast was the standard French B&B option of fresh bread, jam and coffeee, but was of a high quality and served on vintage china. We did not speak much with Marie-Pascal but she was friendly enough and was happy for us and our 10-month old to have the run of the gardens. My only reservation is the price of 105 Euros a night, which given its very rural location and the prices we paid for commensurate rooms elsewhere in France, I think is little on the high side. Would generally recommend though.

We stayed Manoir de Serrigny for 5 days in September 2010. The Manior is very conveniently located near Beaune and Dijon as well as the wine routes. The Manoir is beautifully renovated and immaculate. Our host, Charles, was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast consisted of a basket of fresh breads, juice, coffee, and fresh jam. It was filing and delicious. Our room was huge with a spacious modern bathroom and a lovely view. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts and a lovely terrace with a view of Chateauneuf on the grounds. I would love to have the opportunity to stay here again.
There is an excellent restaurant within a few minutes’ walk and also a small shop which, in addition, to having lovely household items, serves snacks such as scones, carrot cake, etc. They also have used books, many in English. There is a Shopi grocery store and gas station in the nearby town of Creancy and an ATM in Pouilly-en-Auxios.
