Kate and Phillippe are wonderful hosts and make you feel totally at home. The studios are very comfortable and kept nice and clean by Kate. The pool and views are second to none, and Phillippe's cooking is upmarket restaurant quality. You get four courses and as much wine as you want! We definitely recommend you book a trip here.

If you want peace, tranquility, good food and wine in a beautiful setting, then Le Mas du Rouquan is the place.

Philippe is a wonderful cook and Kate the most congenial host. The surrounding area is beautiful - mountains, parasol pines, interesting villages and lots of walks. And not too far from the coast (although we avoided the crowds in Nice and St Tropez, preferring the peace of the countryside). It's a little hidden away, but that's what makes it special! And it's easy to find.

The rooms are spotless and comfortable with everything you need. Only down side is no fan or window but we slept with the french doors open as it was very hot, and were okay - no night visitors!

Lazing by the pool , which is lovely and clean, with a good book is the very best antidote to a busy lifestyle! Followed by a delicious four course meal and endless wine on the terrace as the sun goes down!

If you need somewhere to escape to, to read or write a book, to find some solace and get away from it all, then Le Mas du Rouquan is perfect!

Room Tip: All the rooms are self contained and are lovely, but the very end room is the most private. There are also 2 adjoining rooms for families

This was definitely off the beaten track and in lovely countryside. The hosts and accommodation have been accurately described in previous posts so no need to repeat here. It was very clean and the rooms were made up daily.
The pool was lovely with extremely comfortable sun loungers. As has been said Kate and Phillip are friendly and accommodating, they would even switch the pool lights on for us when we got back late and the children wanted to swim before bedtime! Breakfasts on the terrace were substantial and enjoyed with lovely views.
The only downside was that the rooms had no windows for ventilation. I didn't want to leave the French doors open at night for fear of intruders of the four-legged or slithering variety! This did make an uninterrupted night's sleep impossible as I would wake up stifling every night and would have to open the French doors until the room cooled off.
This is a great base for exploring all this part of France has to offer.

My husband and I stayed three nights here. It's a little out of the way, but very quiet and reasonably priced. Kate and Phillip are very congenial hosts, with lots of good ideas for things to do in the area. They provide a substantial breakfast with a choice of breads, pastries, fruit, cheese and meat. The room was very clean, with a good closet and mini-kitchen area with small frig (with icemaker!) sink, two burner stovetop and a few basic dishes. The bathroom was not large but made up for that as it was modern and clean and had storage space. They provide bath sheets, which we didn't even realize till the last night since the first towels we opened were good quality bath towels. There's a swimming pool with plenty of chaises on the tile deck and ping-pong table. The only downsides were the very hard mattress, and the fact that there was no window in the room! The french doors into the room can be left open at night, but I wasn't entirely comfortable with that. Oh -and no wifi, but Kate offer to let use use here satellite hook-up (which we actually managed to live without!).

Also, while it didn't affect us at all in the room - and in fact the setup allows for maximum privacy, the fact that Phillip is a heavy smoker led us to decide not to try to dine with them (they do offer - we don't know how much they charge for this). Their house, which they leave open, reeks of cigarettes, so we feared the kitchen would also be smokey. Then again if you are traveling to France you will find smokers everywhere. You must dine inside a restaurant if you want to avoid them - they can (and do) smoke on the restaurant terraces.
