We rate this hotel a 2.5 - 3.0* at the price we paid of $197 per night. We were disappointed in the very small room and the fact the shower and hair dryer were broken. On the plus side owners were friendly and the breakfast good. You need a car to access the hotel as the bus service is over 1km away. Ferry service to Wolfgang 10 minutes by foot.

According to the sign on the roof, it is just the Hotel Huber. This hotel is down a quiet lane on the other side of the lake from St Wolgang and about 400 yards from the passenger and bike ferry. It is a traditional building complete with balconies full of flowers and surrounded by superb mountains. This is a traditional family hotel with lots of nice decorative touches and with a very warm and welcoming feel. We had a lovely room on the second floor at the back of the hotel with a balcony. We missed out in the view down to the lake but to be honest the mountains are so spectacular whichever way you look it really doesn't matter. The breakfast buffet was extensive with everything you could want and more including wonderful scrambled eggs and crispy bacon ... almost a full English ... not that you need it with extensive selections of breads, cereals, fruits, meats, cheeses etc. etc. The evening meal on demi pension was a little short on imagination and choice but did include a selection of fresh salads from the buffet which was a welcome treat. All in all you can't go far wrong here ... whatever it's called.

We stayed here with our two teenage sons for two nights on a cycling holiday in the Salzkamergut. As the previous reviewer has said, this is a great family run hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and although two of us spoke German most of the staff were also able to communicate in English. The interior is typically Austrian with lots of dark timber but not so that it is depressingly dark, it is still light and airy. The rooms were of a good size, both of ours having balconies looking out over the fields and Wolfgangsee Lake. All the standard amenities in the room and ensuite bathroom with toiletries and hair drier. A small thing - there was somewhere to put your suitcase while unpacking, other than the bed, and to keep it out of the way once done. No tea and coffee making facilities, but that is standard for Austria. Free wi-fi available, just ask for the password. The food and drink was excellent with a reasonable but not extensive choice. More than adequate to cater for meat, fish and vegetarian likings. Breakfast was the usual buffet selection of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, breads and a hot dish of scrambled eggs.

The foot and bicycle ferry is just a 300m walk from the hotel down past a caravan and camping park (you do not notice that this is there), which takes you across to the town of Wolfgangsee for many shops and the cog railway up to the top of the Schafberg Mountain. You can also take paddle steamer rides around Wolfgangsee.

we stayed here for 3 nights while on a salzkammergut walking holiday. A lovely family run hotel with personal service and very friendly staff. Food was excellent and close proximity to Wolfgangsee, where the ferry can take you over to the other side of the lake to visit other villages.
