“Gorgeous views, peaceful, relaxing- I want to return!”
Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights in this gorgeous estate and absolutely loved it and wished we had stayed longer. A return visit is definitely on the cards.

It was a bit of a challenge getting to especially at night even with a GPS as neither the address nor name was listed in the GPS. Finally we stopped to ask a shopkeeper and he told us the estate was known by its winery "Fattoria del Cerro" and that was listed in the GPS.

We were there in December and we were the only people in the huge estate. We got there late in the evening when it was dark and were received by a Puerto Rican housekeeper at night who spoke barely any English but we got by with a smattering of Spanish.

The room we had was huge and opened into a large sitting area with a fireplace which was shared with another room. Wifi is available in the rooms free of charge.

The bed was fairly comfortable and large. Not quite Westin standard but good enough for a good night's sleep. The view that greeted us from our room in the morning was breathtakingly gorgeous- a tree lined driveway and the typical gorgeous rolling Tuscan countryside.

Breakfast was typically Italian- sweet. We had cereal, breads with jam. On one day we had some cold cuts.

We did not get to dine there as the restaurant was closed in winter. However, it was easy to drive to many restaurants nearby. This place was also a very convenient base for driving to Montepulciano and surrounds.

This is definitely one of the places memorable enough for us to want to return to one day. Peaceful, quiet, romantic, beautiful, comfortable, convenient and relaxing- what more could you want?

It was one of our most beautiful and romantic stays in Tuscany. Rooms 1 and 2 are huge, very clean and well appointed. They share a spacious sitting room at the front of the villa, overlooking the rolling hills, with Montepulciano visible in the distance. Breakfast is hosted in the wine tasting area and is hearty by Italian standards. We would have loved to dine there too but the kitchen was closed for the winter. It proved to be a strategic base to access Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, etc. I would stay there again, in a flash!!!

Tip: the GPS in our AVIS rented car listed the hotel as Fattoria del Cerro.

This has to be the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed for 4 nights in May after spending a few days in Florence. It can be a bit tricky to find, but having read other reviews I printed a map before we left and so we found it without any problems.

The hotel is set in the middle of beautiful rolling Tuscan countryside, and provides large spacious rooms within a large detached villa. Upon arrival we were taking to our room (room 1) which was just breathtaking - a huge room with a four poster bed, chaise lounge, beautiful wooden furniture and an enormous bathroom. Complimentary wine and water were provided, some of the wine coming from the estate within which the villa is set. We were then offered tea / coffee in the small bar downstairs to welcome us.

The staff are fantastic, especially the waitress who seemed to be there each morning and evening for breakfast and dinner. So polite, welcoming and friendly.

We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night - 4 courses of delicious homemade tuscan food for an incredible 25 euros. The dining room is a little quiet but other than that could not fault it. Breakfast every morning was lovely, always lots of choice.

The only tiny problem was that the pool was being emptied and re-filled while we were there and out of use. So on the one day we wanted to stay at the hotel to use the pool unfortuately we couldn't, and it would have been nice to have had a pre warning, but other than that I cannot fault anything. Would recommend this peace of heaven to anyone - and will definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 1 or 2 - at the front of the villa with stunning views and an adjoining living room.

The location of this hotel is remote, so take a decent map. Once we eventually found it, it proved to be the highlight of our Tuscany tour. We stayed 4 nights and ate at the hotel on 2 of these.
Beware the evening meals are huge - full 4 courses. The breakfasts were a homemade delight.
First class swimming pool facility which was fully appreciated in the 40 degree heat. Highly recommended.

This place is, hands down, the most amazing agriturismo out there. We stayed here for a long weekend with a group of 8 and had the most amazing time. A bit fancier than other agriturismos out there, so be prepared for a bit more cost than the traditional ag. Everything was fantastic. Patrizia and her staff were outstanding. They were so patient and kind to our group, struggling with Italian and making way too much noise compared to the other, silent patrons. The grounds were lovely, great for morning and evening strolls, sitting outside and playing cards or an apertivo.

The meals came out to be about 25 Euro a person, including some very special wines. A tasting of the Fattoria del Cerro wines was included with our stay, some of them outstanding (and a case of which came home with us). The meals, however, were the high point for me. If you stay there, eat there every night. We had not one single repeat item in 3 days. From the farro soup, which still lingers in my dreams, to the wild boar to the most fantastic tiramisu on the planet. Mamma mia. It was heavenly.

Of note: there is not a whole lot of English spoken on the property, so if you speak no Italiano and you don't speak another language well enough to get by, you may have a tough time.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor to avoid hearing the clomping of upstairs neighbor's feet. Also, easy acc...

Spent a long weekend here with friends. Nice spacious rooms. Beautiful country side, and amazing panoramic views of the surrounding area. Also had some large rooms with couches and tables, so we could all hang out together and a gazebo outside. The pool was being filled while we were there, so too bad we missed it, but had a really nice pool area.

Had dinner there every night we were there (which is unusual for us), and the food was absolutely amazing every single time (with no repeats). Each dinner had four courses (antipasti, primi, secondi and dolce) along with wine, water, and coffee. There were eight of us in our group, and the staff was super gracious even though we were a bit loud and rowdy at times.

Being an agriturismo, they produce wine and olive oil locally and we had a free tasting with our stay along with their wine ever night with dinner. Super good.

Price was great, each couple paid 90 euro a night for the room, and the dinners were 25 euro per person per meal. Amazing value.

We also bought some wine to take home too.
