The hotel part of the operation was comfortable but not exceptional and it has no elevator. But the food was the best we had on this trip to France (13 days) eating at Michelin one star and Bib Gourmand restaurants and was quite inexpensive to boot. We didn't eat the pied do porc specialty but the fois gras du canard and the ris de veau were superb. Very highly recommended for its food.
The town is nothing special but is pleasant enough with a small chateau on a hill overlooking the town and a nice town square (where the hotel is located). It is where a youth spotted Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette and spead the word resulting in their capture in nearby Varennes.More
