We arrived cold and wet on a chilly September evening and were immediately cheered by the warmest imaginable welcome (and by our spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated, warm room). Although this was our first stay here we felt like welcome friends staying in an unusually comfortable private house.
The table d'hôte dinner was truly excellent (and we are picky eaters): Fresh home-cooked food accompanied by fine wines from the proprietors' own estate and from the Rhône. The breakfast too was exceptionally good by any standards.
Verzenay is itself an attractive working wine-producing village, within easy reach of both Reims and Èpernay, not to mention and a dozen other charming Champagne-producing villages. All you need is to brush up your school French, hire a car (or bring your own) and make a booking: This exceptional B+B will not disappoint.
